I just moved form new mexico and man this is what i call BBQ. Smoked meat, good service, when i think of BBQ this is IT!

Before moving back to the KC area, I would visit my family several times a year and one place I would always have eat at was Zarda's. And, now that I am back, I go there 1 or 2 times a month. It has the best BBQ. My favorite is the large BBQ Beef sandwich, with a side of fries and beans, and medium coke. This normally runs around $11. There is sooo much meat on the bun that I usually only eat 1/2 of it and take the rest one. Their beans are awesome. If you don't want to fix anything at home, you can go through the drive thru. This sometimes takes awhile but it is worth it. I also have not seen the staff be rude to their customers. Zarda is simply the best!

This is the only Chinese restaurant in South Overland Park that I could find that would deliver. Their prices are reasonable and the food is acceptable. It’s certainly not the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten, but if you need a convenient delivery option that’s different than pizza, it’s worth a try.

Yia Yia's is a very good resturant. It has amazing food and really great service. It has catering and private dining, too. It is a great place for private parties. It also has a kid's menu, so the whole family can come. Yia Yia's is very sophisticated. I love this place!!

This is a great little knitting shop located in the old downtown area of Overland Park, just a bit south of Metcalf and 75th. They have a wonderful selection of yarns and the best aspect is that they are arranged by color, rather than brand; this makes it extremely easy to brainstorm and make a really unique garment. They also have an extremely good selection of tools and books--stronger than other metro yarn shops, and they have Addis!--as well as an area to sit and chat, and an area for classes. Definately worth the drive.
PROS: yarns are arranged by color!
CONS: heavy on the novelty yarns

Small liquor store in the heart of Old Stanley. This is the place to run into if you live close by and just need to grab some beer or a basic wine. The owners are always very helpful and are always willing to tell you what the best bargains are. They have 10% discount on wines every Tuesday, which makes it worthwhile to stop in for your favorite bottle. Their wine selection is decent for a small store, but not exceptional. You will find the basic varieties as well as some unique ones, but you may not find that one special bottle you’ve had your eye on.
