This is a restaurant you come back to time and time again. Good food, service, with little private dining area on the side of the dining area. Note the children servings are on the older serving size. Don't be fooled by the restaurant exterior..it is a nice place inside.

Wow. Quite possibly the best steak I've ever had! I'm still feeling euphoric from the meal. I know what you're thinking and, no, I am not an employee =) The atmosphere was great. Dim lighting and very relaxed. At the same time it is very upscale and VERY expensive. $40 steak (which melted in my mouth) with a glass of wine and 15% gratuity rounded out a $65 bill for just myself! The staff had their noses turned a bit too far into the air for my liking, but at these prices, what do you expect? They weren't unpleasant, but definitely did not leave me with a "warm fuzzy" feeling. If you can splurge, staff be damned, this meal was excellent!
Pros: Excellent food, great ambiance
Cons: Expensive!

My friends took me to Jack Stack for my birthday. We sat at the bar.. the bartender that waited on us was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. I had the rack of lamb, and it was perfect. The cheesy-corn bake was to very good, and I finished the meal with a scrupteous piece of pie. All in all a great dining experience. They also had a refreshing assortment of beer/ale on their list."

This is a great KC barbecue place. In addition to the restaurant, they have a catering venue next door. The restaurant is a casual, quiet place. They also have a small bar and carry out area. The carry out area is nice since they have an area that you can sit and wait. Nothing fancy, just some good KC barbecue at this place.

Four of us spent a week in KC primarily to sightsee and sample KC BBQ cuisine. We visited Arthur Bryant's, Oklahoma Joe's and Fiorella's Jack Stack and were unanimous in our feeling that Fiorella's was the best of the three. Very friendly wait staff, reasonable prices, many menu selections to choose from... well worth the 30 to 40 minute wait for table seating. The BBQ ribs, baked beans and slaw were the best I've had anywhere... and I always go to at least 1 BBQ place when I travel. I will definitely eat there again if I visit KC.
Pros: Best BBQ meal I had in KC

I grew up in KC but have lived in the DFW area for almost 30 years. I drive to Kansas City now and then, just to eat here and buy cases of sauce to tempt my friends in Texas. This is, by far, the best BBQ in the United States of America. Which means, it's the best BBQ on Planet Earth.
Texans think they own BBQ. Texans are clueless. They have no concept of BBQ reality. I'm sure the same can be said of Memphis BBQ, St. Louis BBQ or anywhere else.
I have nightmares about the day when both Hayward and Hattie are no longer with us. I hope they have children who take over the business. If not, we're all in trouble......
BTW: It's located in Overland Park, KS. Not Shawnee Mission, KS.

My favorite place to get Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. They offer a wide variety of quality toppings and ingredients. Show up early for lunch, however, or you will be waiting in line. They also offer other meal options, but the cheesesteak is the best. And forget Sheridan's, if you want GOOD frozen custard, Chartroose's is the best in the area.

I've been eating at the Caboose for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed. We took our kids there for the first time recently & never heard one complaint about the absence of a toy in the kids meal! The sandwiches are hot, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The decor does leave a bit to be desired, but dump some hot cheese on your cup of fries & get over it.
Pros: Value, Speed, Fresh Food
Cons: Stale atmosphere

I recently visited Cinzetti's for dinner with my family on a Monday night. Our experience was wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful (one member of our party has pretty strict food allergies, and no only did one of the managers walk around with us, explaining what was in each dish, but the chefs also prepared modified dishes for her!) It was a fantastic value for the money! And we didn't realize it when we went in, but kids eat for free Monday and Tuesday nights! I would definitely recommend Cinzettis! Not only is it a really fun experience--completely UNlike any other buffet I've ever been to, but it was such a great value! The only two tips I'd give other customers--come hungry and pace yourself! You don't want to miss a thing!
