This year's slogan Horror Comes Home is right! Horror or should I say Halloween Horror Nights is done best at Universal Studios!
This event is not for the faint-hearted or people who scare easily!
This is a PG-13 event, a event that the scareactors, really do try to scare you. No Kidding! When you least expect it, you'll get scared, they watch you & bam they get you!
I just laugh at them. (I wonder if that makes them mad?) LOL!
The lights are shut off, and it is like one big haunted house in the darkness, since you walk to the houses via scare zones, where again you can get scared!
At certain times I saw people scream hysterically & run by me yes even grown men. LOL! That cracks me up, where in the heck are the going to go?
Jack the Clown, the Caretaker, the Director, and the Storyteller have come back, you remember them from past HHN events, well they have become the icons of HHN Sweet 16. You see them everywhere!
There are 7 haunted houses! These houses revisited from past HHN events are done better this time around!! The houses are: The Dugeon of Terror"- the Storyteller's house, People Under the Stairs, Psycho Path The Return Of Norman Bates,Run -Hostile Territory, Scream House Resurrection- the Caretaker's house, Psychoscareapy Maxium Madness -Jack's house, All Night Die In Take Two -the Directors house. I will not give you descriptions of the houses, if you want to read descriptions go to: http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/dungeon.html
Are you game enough to visit all 7 houses?? I did!! My favorite house was Scream House Resurrection- the Caretaker's house!!;-)
I did actually get startled once during the night, In the Scream House, I looked to my left then to my front & the Caretaker was right in front of me I was like wow! I said to the Caretaker "OH you got me Caretaker", he sorta cracked a slight smile! And well Jack tried to scare me I started laughing and did not watch where I was walking tripped and started to fall, Jack caught me!;-)
The scare zones are Deadtropolis Zombie Seige (NY Street area) it's "Us the living" & "Them the zombies" in this zone, Harvest of the Souls the bizzare dwell in this zone that is lit by flickering lanterns (next to lagoon & around animal's stage area), Horror Comes Home where past HHN characters terrorize you (by terminator), and Blood Masquerade vampires call you (by Shrek). I liked Harvest of the Souls the best, it was eerie.
Please keep in mind you have to walk to the houses, well everything via these scare zones!
There are 2 live shows including a all new Bill & Ted Adventure which was so funny the best one I think ever, & the Arrival with Darkness his minions Jack, the Caretaker, the Director, and the Storyteller!
In the lagoon the Sweet 16 film featuring the director, Jack, The Caretaker & The Storyteller plays.
Rides that I noticed that were open, Revenge of the Mummy, Men In Black, Twister, Jaws (it is different in the dark) & Terminator.
But you don't go To Halloween Horror Nights for the rides you go for the Haunted Houses!!
Great job Universal this HHN -Sweet 16, it ROCKED!!
Check out my review oh the HNN16 website.

This review refers to the downtown location. It's surprising that Orlando has such a grand library considering that it's not know to be a book town. It has multiple floors, including a book shop and great law library. Downstairs they show movies on a big screen and there's a "teen area" if you have kids. Even if you're not into books, the Downtown library has a lot to offer in movies. They also have lectures from time to time.

City Haven is a small realty specializing in downtown Orlando rentals. Most of their properties are in the Colonialtown and College Park areas.
City Haven is a great company to rent from. They offer the benefits of a small-time landlord: quick response and friendly service, with the standardized practices of a larger organization. You're doing business with an established company, not one person and their whims.
Their prices are reasonable, especially in the escalating Orlando real estate market, and many of their properties offer the charm of older properties - rare in a town made up mostly of brand new suburbs.

Imagine thirty kids on stage playing loud rock music, with ten guitars, four keyboards, six drum sets, eight backup singers, a kid singing scat, a few bass players and handclapping for good measure - and actually sounding fantastic. You've got central Florida's answer to School of Rock.
UCF's summer week-long rock and roll day camps for middle and high schoolers are a great experience for both kids and parents.
They are about the length of a normal school day, and the kids get to hear local bands, have instruction in their personal field of study, and learn how to cooperate in a band setting.
At the end of the week, they put on a concert for parents and friends, and this year it was amazing to see such a large group of kids - including some still in elementary school - pulled together in great renditions of hits by Green Day, Queen, and ACDC.
If your kid is itching to be a rock star, send her to rock camp. At least she'll have fun.

Some years back, this market was not very good but at some point, new ownership took over and it is a wonderful place now. It is always clean and well kept, and the workers there are always pleasant and friendly to deal with.
The produce is fresh and very nice. They have a great selection available, including many ethnic items.
Sometimes they will have some 'older' items that they have marked down ridiculously low - for example, I got some bananas that were turning just a *little* TINY bit brown & the market had marked them down to 10cents a pound! What a deal - I bought a ton of them, I took them home, mashed them up & froze them for use in banana bread recipes, smoothies & such.
Great local market with great produce!

More
My husband used Tropical's services during a period of time when he needed transportation to/from work while we were waiting approval from the local paratransit service.
He only knew his driver as "Willie", but Willie was a wonderful gentleman, who went out of his way to be as kind and helpful as could be. My husband is a paraplegic confined to a wheelchair. At that time, he was still using a manual chair. Willie would help him into the car every morning, break down & load his chair, then assist him out of the car & to his office upon arrival. He just showed so much compassion and did those little extra things that were "above and beyond the call of duty".
If Willie is an example of the type of service one can expect from all drivers at Tropical, they are the best!

Stepping Stones aids handicapped and disabled people by providing a variety of mobility devices and equipment at low or no cost. They have a large warehouse with a variety of equipment, that a person may purchase at extremely reasonable cost. We have also heard of occasions where they have made gifts to needy disabled people who were unable to provide for themselves otherwise.
We have purchased a few items from their warehouse, the quality of the items has been great, the prices were wonderful, and the staff there were all very pleasant to deal with.

More
I originally saw Dr. Cooperman for the first time years ago, when an army medical examiner told me he thought I had a problem with my optic nerves. The true problem ended up being detached retinas, which Dr. Cooperman diagnosed, and later performed the needed surgery to repair them. Surgery was flawless and recovery was extremely fast & pain-free.
Many years later, at an annual check-up visit, it was Dr. Cooperman who first detected the formation of cataracts in my one eye and recommended an excellent doctor who could take care of that for me (Dr. Cooperman is strictly a retina specialist)
Dr. Cooperman's "bedside manner" is excellent. He takes his time with his patients and explains things thoroughly - he never rushes or 'talks down to you' like some doctors do.

More
This is one of the largest thrift stores that I'm aware of in Orlando. This place is the size of a typical general-merchandise store, and their goods are well organized & laid out in different 'departments' just like a 'regular' store.
An entire area is devoted to furniture, there are racks upon racks upon racks of clothing for everyone in the family, kitchen goods & household items galore.
One thing I always have fun with is the 'grab-bag' type bags they put together. You will find lots of these along the tops of the racks - they will have taken a good handful of related small items & bagged them up together in clear plastic bags -- for a dollar or two, you can get a great 'goodie-bag' full of stuff!
Be prepared to spend a good amount of time here, but you won't spend much money because everything is priced so low!
