This is a great little museum with a diverse collection. However, this review focuses on a particular exhibit going on until July 23, 2006.
Some of you might remember the book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Well how about just The Art of the Motorcycle.
The following was copied from the museums web site:
Both art and motorcycle enthusiasts will feel a part of the cultural
revolution when The Art of the Motorcycle rolls into the Orlando Museum of Art. Based on the landmark exhibition that opened at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, in 1998 to record crowds, The Art of the Motorcycle explores the motorcycle as both cultural icon and design achievement and offers a thought-provoking challenge to conventional assumptions about art and popular culture in the modern age. It is organized by Wonders, The Memphis International Cultural Series, in association with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, New York.

This is always a great place to spend an afternoon. They keep it up nicely and there is a nice open area out front for a picnic or just relaxing after taking in all of the wonderful masterpieces. They have a permanent instalation with antique pieces which is very educational for kids too.

The Orlando Museum of Art is growing day by day. At the time I frequented it they had on loan part of Magic Basketball Player Grant Hill's collection. Quite a generous token from Hill, thank you on behalf of the Greater Central Florida community!
My daughter loved the Chuhuoly exhibit! The vivid and brightly coloured glass was wonderful!
My wish for the OMA would be some permanent exhibit that would interest children. They publish their different shows weekly in the Sentinel and Orlando Arts Magazine, so keep posted for more great exhibits!
