Ranked #1 in Orlando among sushi restaurants and located at Historic Marketplace on Church Street, Amura Japanese Restaurant has earned prominent reputation thanks to its relaxing atmosphere, individualized hospitality, and mouth-watering sushi. Since coming across the colorful and old-style brick park place, we can enjoy the inviting ambience, which inspires us to take a deep breath, loaded with a hearty feeling of peace and love. Then, the welcoming greeting given by the enthusiastic hostess invokes a comfortable warm sensation as a paradisiacal dreamland adventure; also, charming attendants, who are always carrying a friendly smile, delight the lucky visitors with a gracious oriental-accent description about the specialized menu variety offered at Amura Japanese Sushi Bar. At the same time, the freshly prepared seafood aroma expelled from the well equipped kitchen invites us to sit down on either one of the spotless and carefully organized booth tables, or, if you prefer, at the sushi bar cushioned stools, where we have the opportunity to watch the amusing show given by the the professional chefs, who would be pleased to display an interesting spectacle while we decide what to order. Meanwhile, "suave" and melodious instrumental music, along with the absorbed guests savoring the soy-sauce scented feast, reveals the such harmonious tranquility anticipates the best sushi in town. After a short yet worthy pause, our lovely waitress serves a recently-cut sushi meal, with an ambrosial fragrance, and the flavor, superb. Without a doubt, Amura Japanese Sushi Bar is the best fresh sushi restaurant in Downtown Orlando.
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: No parking

We just became fans of the sushi because the only one I eat is the tuna and my wife don't like fish. Someone told us that they have chicken rolls and is just like eat a sushi roll. We went to different places in Orlando to get the chicken teriyaki rolls but we only found one place and we didn't like it. We love this place so much that in the last two months we've been in the restaurant 5 times. The place is great, the people is great, it's not expensive and the food is great. Even the parking is great because this is in downtown Orlando and is close to a parking lot that we always pay $1.50 for 1 hour and a half. We like it so much that we are going today again and I'm dying to take my family to Amura.
Pros: Place, Service, People, Food and Parking
Cons: None

I have been eating at Amura since it was first recommended to me in 1996. Before the Dr. Phillips location opened, I drove to downtown for lunch there. Between 2000 and 2003, I worked downtown and dined at Amura at least twice a month. If you aren't in the door before noon, don't go until about 1:30, because the early crowd will fill the place.I highly recommend the Super Crunch Roll; if you like spicy, order the Spicy Super Crunch Roll. The service is exactly what one should expect in a quality sushi house; it takes time to make quality sushi with an awesome presentation.

When visiting Orlando, my husband and I sought out a restaurant with good sushi (for him) and good hibachi (for me). Although none of the on-line descriptions (including their website - which is not helpful at all) indicated that Amura offers hibachi-style cooking (where they cook the food on the grill in front of you), we called and confirmed they did. The meal was fantastic. The sushi was excellent: not the best we've ever had, but very, very good. The hibachi was the best we have had, and we have eaten at 5-10 such restaurants across the country. They season the meat before putting it on the grill, which makes all the difference. Our chef was fairly new, so some of the "tricks" they do weren't executed perfectly, but it was still a good show. On the other hand, the food was excellent. They put cooking a good meal above the showmanship. I usually order hibachi steak, because the chicken can be bland. In this case, I ordered a combination of shrimp, steak and chicken. All were excellent, but the chicken was actually better than the steak! I highly recommend this as a place for anyone looking for good hibachi or sushi. It can be a little pricey, but that is true of most good sushi and hibachi restaurants.
Pros: Excellent hibachi and sushi, good service
Cons: Can be pricey (but not atypical of the food quality)

Amura is more like a American Japanese Resturant!
But, what is the matter! We are in America!!!
They are always busy, which show the rotation of the food,,,there is no way their fish is not fresh!!!
A lot of people think it's expensive!!! think about how much food do you get at that price!!!
Their sushi is like King Kong size!!!One roll is enough for me,,, $10 for dinner,,,you can't call that expensive!!!
I just love it!!!!
Pros: everything
Cons: none,,,,,

Sushi has always been scaring to me until that day i put that piece of bubba roll in my mouth.
Ever since then, amura became my favorite resturant.
From the bubba roll, to salmon nigiri. My taste changed just for amura.
Before, I would question my friends, how can you eat fish when it's raw.
Now, I feel like if I don't have sushi, one day!!! I don't know how life it's gonna be.( Ha ha, not that bad, I am joking.)
A lot of people I know, know Amura.
Some like it, some don't.
What I want to say, I work in a resturant. It is not easy work in a resturant.
I always respect my servers, they work really hard.
Especially in a resturant like Amura, busy, very busy.
They have to deal with different people, different requests, they work very hard.
Sushi is hand making food, I don't understand why do people think they can walk in a sushi resturant and their food will be ready like they are in Burgerking, or some kind of fast food resturant.
People make mistake, I do, you do ,everyone does.
If a server makes a mistake, just tell them nicely to fix it, no need to make a big deal out of it.
If the hostess tell you there is a wait, common, that's not their fault!
If you think you don't have time to wait for amura get your sushi ready like a fast food resturant. Go to Publix, their sushi was ready at begining of the day, and has been setting there for the whole day waiting for you to go pick them up!
I just get really mad when people saying bad things about a resturant for a reason that just because they are so selfish.
