If you can image service, knowledge, and smiles in one buying experience, you will have Colonial Photo and Hobby. I went in feeling a little overwhelmed because I was new to Digital SLRs. I came out feeling like I made the right purchase, and I even got a photography lesson to boot. I suggest stopping by just to experience how things "used to be" when shopping. Don't expect to pay more for this service either. Their prices meet or beat the "box stores".

Pier 1 offers a wide variety of really unique pieces of furniture, glassware and anything related to decorating your home. The staff are friendly and so helpful, going out of their way to be of help. I love when Pier 1 have sales, I can make my dollar go so much further. Parking is not a problem here.
PROS: Wide variety
CONS: nothing.

I was very impressed. The gentleman who waited on me really knew his stuff. I have a herniated disc and he knew exactly the type of sleep issues I was having beacuse on my condition. I picked out a Stearns & Foster Edinbridge and they delivered it my home an hour after I purchased it. I checked the bed out on the net and the price I paid was $200 less than other reatilers internet pricing.

I am crazy about Cost Plus!! I think that they have the best prices on wine, bar none. There is a great international food selection, as well. Their furniture prices are steep, however. I think they are more expensive than Pier 1. But it's a great place to go for funky decorative pieces and decorating on the cheap. I only wish that they'd build one closer to me (west side of town). Hint: subscribe to their newsletter by e-mail and get advance notice of sales and wonderful information on wine.

We are big fans of Scandinavian furniture (love IKEA), so this place is like hog's heaven. Unlike their store in Tampa which is a massive warehouse, these premises are smaller - however they fill it efficiently, and with a great assortment of pieces. We ordered a dining table & 6 chairs and a large office desk, which arrived in a couple of weeks. We also ordered a large entertainment unit, but since we customized the drawer & cabinet layout, this had to custom-built in Denmark and shipped over. We received it 3 months after ordering. In total we spent over 10 grand, but you have to pay that for European furniture. If you want to spend less, go buy something domestic.
