As this is my first visit to Orlando, I have used citysearch as a guide for dining. After reading the reviews here, my wife and I decided to give it a try for something a little different. We started our meal with the cheese fondue appetizer. We chose the cheddar cheese which was prepared in front of us consisting of a mixture of beer, garlic, worcheshire and of course cheddar cheese. I think there were a couple more ingredients but I cant remember what they were. We were then given breads and vegetable and apples to dip in the cheese. I personally did not like the cheese concoction and I am from Wisconsin and I like cheese. It seemed to have some sort of wang (technical term) to it. My wife thought it was just ok. Next came the salad, we both chose the house salad. It was a good salad with a special house dressing that was quite tasty. After that came the entree. My wife chose the chicken and I chose the sirloin. Both came with potato's and veggies and a variety of sauces and batter. We chose to cook ours in the oil as opposed to the broth. The meat was good quality and the sauces offered a variety of flavors. The hard part was the cooking. You are each given 2 forks to cook with so obviusly you will only have at most 2 peices of food to eat. On the flip side, your food is always hot. In the end, we were both too full to try the chocolate fondue for desert which was disappointing. All in all, it was fun. We don't see ourselves doing it again mostly because as it has been mentioned, it is pricey. With tip, we came out paying $75.00. I am sure I can get a better meal in this town for that money. If you want to do something different and have a little fun, this is a fondoo. If you are looking to relax and for really good food, this is a fondon't.
Pros: Fun to cook your own food and makes for fun with company
Cons: Paying high prices to cook your own food

Not to bad if you go once in awhile but pricey. The service was ok the day we went but we only go on special occasions like birthdays because of the cost compared to what you get

The Melting Pot is great for a dinner or just dessert. The food is delicious, albeit slightly overpriced, but it is the best fondue place in town...and much easier than making it yourself.

In a nutshell--overpriced bland food served in a nice ambiance.
But the ambiance and fun fondue novelty wears off quickly when the food falls flat especially when you see the check.

This isn't a place like Friday's where you go once a week when you are too tired to cook. There are some reviews saying its overpriced but it is well worth it. I've gone to the one in Maryland as well as the one in Florida. The desert is one of the best deserts anywhere. Freshly melted chocolates of any kind, although Milk chocolate is the best. The white is good but it doesn't go with everything on the tray served with it and dark is, well, dark. The dinner alone is small if you don't buy the meal with the cheese to start, and a desert to finish but if you get the entire meal, you won't want to eat again for a year. My favorite dinner would be the tenderloin steak with the teriyaki sauce.
The mood is romantic. The lights are low, but not too low. The servers are all well dressed and the decorations look fancy. There is a huge list of wines if that is your thing.
I recommend this place for people celebrating an event or having a romantic date with someone. Because of the price as well as the 3 hour long meal, I wouldn't say it is for everyone but it is worth a try for most.
Pros: Awesome food, and ambience.
Cons: The prices are high.

We finally tried it after driving by everyday on the way home. I just don't get it. The food was extremely over priced, the broth was super salty and the dark chocolate was waxy and cheap tasting. For the price ($100 for two of us) there are a million places I'd rather go. I guess the experience was fun for about a second but next time I'll spend my money on a great cut of meat and a fine bottle of wine and look to my dinner companion for entertainment.
Pros: ???
Cons: Over priced, Long wait
