The Adventurers Club is hard to explain. The premise is a turn of the century club for (what else?) adventurers who are holding an open house. Cast members are in character and interact with guests. Every half hour or so people are invited into one of the rooms for a more formal, but interactive time. If you go in with an open mind it is fun and hilarious, but if you are shy sonot go here. This is the most unique club at Pleasure Island

I walked in to this Church 3 years ago while I was going to UCF and found exactly what I was looking for: A group of people who want to know more about themselves, life and God, not through dogma or blind-faith, but through study, knowledge and inspection by oneself. I also found a very positive, pro-survival group which was exactly what I needed. All faiths are welcome at the Church because they don't tell you what to believe but instead help you find your own answers to life's questions. They are very active in the community and believe one should use what they learned to improve their environment and society, not just wish for it to get better. The moment you walk in, you'll feel the friendliness from the group. They'll also help you solve life's problems with simple tools to clear the way for spiritual progress. Study, kids, relationships, marriage... You name it, they have a solution. Check them out!

A very nice place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon. Beautiful gardens to stroll through on paved walkways. Inexpensive family fun and Monday mornings before noon are free. The kids favorite is the clock garden. The rose garden and butterfly gardens are very nice too. I would avoid the afternoon heat of the summer, spring time is pretty there.

This is the type of church you see on television, where everyone knows everyone else. It is a great place where the Sunday sermon always has a story and a point, not just biblical readings and nothing more. The church also has a very active youth group and the older volunteers are constantly putting together some sort of fund raiser or community wide event. It is a great place to visit and an even better place to get involved.

This church is very large and one of the most beautiful shrines in the greater Orlando area. The church is mainly intended for tourists, but the atmosphere is incredible. Next to the actual church is a mosaic and religious art exhibit and across from that, a gift shop. During some holidays, such as Easter and Christmas, a section of the church is elaborately decorated and available for public viewing. This church is highly recommended.

This review refers to the downtown location. It's surprising that Orlando has such a grand library considering that it's not know to be a book town. It has multiple floors, including a book shop and great law library. Downstairs they show movies on a big screen and there's a "teen area" if you have kids. Even if you're not into books, the Downtown library has a lot to offer in movies. They also have lectures from time to time.

Many of us can go on about the history of Altoona, PA., Napier, IL. or Poughkeepsie, NY. ... well not everybody, but some. But how many people in Orlando, or Central Florida know anything about their hometown??? Chances are VERY VERY few know anything other than what happened in Southwest Orange/Northwest Osceola counties. Yes there was a history in B.D. (before Disney), a rather dynamic one at that. Every newcomer and "pure Floridian" should visit the History Center at least once and get to know your region! How can we shape Central Florida's future if we don't know its past!!
