Downeast Home boasts name brand home furniture and accessories for deeply (and not so deeply) discounted prices. However, to get the best deals you need to visit often and/or be prepared to fix up your finds a bit. For example, after Christmas I found the Pottery Barn stockings and tree skirt I had been wanting for just a couple of dollars each; however, they were already monogrammed. I simple took a seam ripper and removed the names then revived the velvet. The little bit of effort made this purchase at Downeast Home a real steal. Friends have found near perfect coffee tables and cabinets that were reasonably priced. Also, Downeast Home carries clothing and children's toys.

Downeast Home is a furniture discount store. They sell seconds and discontinued merchandise (from name brand stores) at a fraction of the price. It's a store where you really have to look around, but can definitely find some great stuff. They have cheap Seven and Lucky jeans too. They will send any article of clothing out to their seamstress to "fix" free of charge. Make sure you like it if you buy it because they have a strict return policy. But overall, a great store.
