We had relatives in town and wanted to try something new. This restaurant has been around for a long time but I'd never gone. We arrived at 5:45 (reservation was for 6:00) and had drinks in the bar. I asked for a view table but was told there were none available. After drinks we moved to our spectacular corner table with a full view of the city below. (am not sure how that happened!) We were offered the sunset menu ($20 for salad, entree + dessert) and all 5 of us ordered from it. No one was disappointed, in fact every one of us raved about the salmon, prime rib and chicken entrees we were served. I cannot recommend this establishment enough! We all had a wonderful evening.
Pros: Unbelievable Sunset Menu
Cons: None

Great down home feel, comfortable environment! From the moment my boyfriend sat down we felt like we had been welcomed back home by family. The drinks quenched my boyfriends huge thirst which is quite an impossible task given the fact that he is a professional extreme sports athlete. The free peanuts are definitely a cool idea and you can toss them on the floor when your done, which made me feel quite rebellious! The fixins' are a great (we had mashed potatoes, an bitty bits' salad with THE best ranch i have ever had, and macaroni and cheese) and I find it hard to believe that you can get FREE second helpins on such tasty sides!!!!Anyways our server was David, who was very outgoing and friendly to both my boyfriend and myself, and he had really cool tattoos too!!! I must say that this is a very unique place where you shouldn't rush through your dinner and get out the door, if you want that go to Dennys. I hear that they even have a "country night" where they have live bands/musicians come in and play. Our overall experience was great and although it is a bit of a drive for us we will gladly make it on a weekly basis to enjoy our new favorite bbq joint!!
Pros: Down home feel, Free seconds!!
Cons: Peanut shells stuck to my shoes! HaHa!

I really enjoy coming to PJ's Abbey, the old church definately makes it worth the drive. The food is great and the service is slow, but I feel it's so yu can enjoy the atmosphere. When we are in a hurry, they do step on it for us.
