Falls Terrace is called Falls Terrace because - guess what - IT OVERLOOKS THE FALLS. Terrace. So commenting on the beautiful view would be like saying "we went to a bookstore to read - guess what - Books!"
The cuisine was something special, though. My wife had the French Onion soup, and I had the seafood floating in about a pound of butter.

We stopped at The Oyster House after cross country flight and ate everything in sight. Both cod and chips and oysters and chips were terrific. Cole slaw with either raisins or currents was the best we've ever had. We tried to return on our way back to airport but two weeks had past and we couldn't remember where we were or how we found it. Now that we're home, I'm hoping they will give me their recipe for cole slaw so I can make it myself.
Pros: Cole Slaw

I love Budd Bay- fantastic menu (seafood, steak, chicken, salads) and the staff is friendly. On warm summer days, go and sit out on the deck in the sun. My favorite lunch fare is the Seafood Saute Salad over spinach. Yum! The food is high quality and prices are better than average. They also have a Sunday Brunch (with bottomless mimosa's) that is wonderful.

And in my opinion, the best as well. The Oyster House is an interesting mix of old and new, having a rich history and fabulous food, but it doesn't take itself that seriously. For the best, really- their mascot is a family of cartoon oysters that are featured on all their printed material. So for being such a nice place, the atmosphere is very relaxed- you don't have to wear a suit and tie, though you might end up paying $30 for your meal. There's usually a game on in the background, and the bar is located in the middle of the restaurant. Still, it's not a bad place to bring the kids- the junior meals are very reasonably priced, with all the usual fare like chicken strips and spaghetti. The regular menu is more varied, running between crab and gorgonzola tortellini to bacon wrapped fillet mignon, to their house speciality, pan fried Olympia oysters.
Located at the waterfront of Downtown Olympia, The Oyster House has its busiest season in summer, or whenever the weather is nice. It's not a bad idea at these times to park a little distance from the restaurant to enjoy the stroll on the boardwalk to and from. For those who use truly alternative methods of travel, the restaurant actually has docking available for boats. When the weather is bad, they're less busy, but of course seating is halved as the spacious patio will be closed.

We have eaten many times at this restuarant. They give ample portions and the fish and other seafood is always first rate! They usually have in the local newspper coupons for discounts and even at times offer a two for one special on their fish & chips. You can have all the french fries you like on some oders. Some nights they feature all you can eat Prawns. Yum Yum. They have chicken too.
PROS: Specials are featured daily at Joeys. Service has always been good.
CONS: Can get crowded at times.

Red Lobster, to me, is one of those places that you just have to be choosy about which item you choose off of the menu. I've chosen the Shrimp Scampi and ended up with all of 5 shrimp and still hungry, but I've ordered the pasta dishes and had more than I could eat! The food is usually pretty good.
