Even though Olive Garden is a big Italian restaurant franchise, it doesn't cheapen the value of the food and the atmosphere. The Italian villa-inspired building construction and decor, black and white photography, and elegant music add to the quality of the dining experience. It's a good place to go to satisfy that craving for pasta; everything on the menu sounds good. I highly recommend asking for alfredo sauce to dip your breadsticks in--the bread's free, the sauce costs extra, but it's so worth it. If there aren't any authentic Italian eateries in your town, there's a good chance an Olive Garden is nearby.

I always order the Strada susina (the one with chicken and cashews) so I can't really comment on the other food. The pizza is awesome though. It's my favorite and yes, a little pricey for the type of restaurant you're in, but I think it's worth it.

I love the spring rolls at this place, and the peanut sauce it comes with is to die for. Their curry dishes are very good, as well. Nice portions. The only time I've been disappointed is when I ordered the Mango Salad. There just wasn't enough!! It was so tasty, the cilantro and mango combination was a taste bud delight....it was just too small of a serving. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Don't let the outside of the China Clipper fool you. I've been there many times, and seen many shows there. It's a great intimate venue to see a live show. Also, the bar staff there are locals who are friendly and funny. You can go and enjoy a few drinks in their random, but interesting, lounge and then head in to the separate space (that holds pool tables during the non-show part of the day) to watch a show by one of the many local bands that they book there. The shows are, for the most part only around 5-8 bucks or so, so it's a good deal. Little tip, keep your eyes open, some pretty major Washington bands meander in from time to time.
Pros: Great Music Venue, Great Staff, Great Location

I used to have class meetings here once a week. It is an inviting space to talk, drink tea and support indigenous crafts. The place is split into two parts with a cafe and a store that sells crafts from around the world, supporting the families that make them by offering fair trade practices.

And in my opinion, the best as well. The Oyster House is an interesting mix of old and new, having a rich history and fabulous food, but it doesn't take itself that seriously. For the best, really- their mascot is a family of cartoon oysters that are featured on all their printed material. So for being such a nice place, the atmosphere is very relaxed- you don't have to wear a suit and tie, though you might end up paying $30 for your meal. There's usually a game on in the background, and the bar is located in the middle of the restaurant. Still, it's not a bad place to bring the kids- the junior meals are very reasonably priced, with all the usual fare like chicken strips and spaghetti. The regular menu is more varied, running between crab and gorgonzola tortellini to bacon wrapped fillet mignon, to their house speciality, pan fried Olympia oysters.
Located at the waterfront of Downtown Olympia, The Oyster House has its busiest season in summer, or whenever the weather is nice. It's not a bad idea at these times to park a little distance from the restaurant to enjoy the stroll on the boardwalk to and from. For those who use truly alternative methods of travel, the restaurant actually has docking available for boats. When the weather is bad, they're less busy, but of course seating is halved as the spacious patio will be closed.
