out of six dishes purchased only two we were willing to pay for, and just barely at that. Once a family favorite the lemon grass was considered one of the best places in town but since the recent renovations the quality has just plummeted. Being faithful patrons we kept returning hoping for a return to the old hearty curries and a demise of raw kings wings bland satays and watery over spiced underflavored curries. Sadly after three+ visits we are forced to accept that our old family haunt should be taken out of the rotation. Hopefully this review will inspire a return to the old fantastic fare and I start reading positive reviews again. However we won't return until those great reviews return. Eat well and love boundlessly

The food here is pretty good. The seating is a bit crowded during busy hours. The wait staff is nice and attentive. I would recommend it, but it's not the very best Thai food I've had.

As Olympia is quite a college town, it is always nice to have a few restaurants to take the parents to and this is one of them. They have a great selection of Asian fare, prepared perfectly. My favorite is the flaming beef, it is marinated and tender. The space itself is small and you may have to wait for a table on the weekends.

This has been by far my favorite restaurant throughout the years. The flavors to each dish are so unique, however I always have a hard time venturing away from the Lemon Grass Chicken. Their Spring Rolls are outstanding for an appetizer. The dishes are very reasonably priced. Portions are great for the price you pay per dish. Beautiful presentation on the dishes not to mention the flavor.
They just did a gorgeous job remodeling. A person can go dressed up or in their casual clothing. The place is very classy. They have always used beautiful glasswear, table linens, cloth dinner napkins, ect. The seating is cozy, the surrounding waterfall and lighting that is dim makes this a memorable experience. My family and I have always had the most wonderful service and all happiness from all that eat there. A very positive environment. Sometimes the wait can be ten to twenty minutes to be seated , however the experience is far worth the wait.
I hope all have the same experience I have at the Lemon Grass.
Pros: Taste of food, price, service, cleanliness, decor
Cons: Closed between lunch and dinner reopens at 5:00pm

This was only the 2nd time I had thai food and it was great. I had the regular Pad Thai and it was sooo great...I only suggest that you don't test your spicyness level if you have a sensitive tongue. The taste and authenticity of the food is amazing and their portions are great. I was full when I left and had some to take home. AWESOME!!

This restaurant has the best Thai food in downtown but can be a little busy. Which says something about the food. The food is excellent and the prices are appropriate.

Flat out, Lemon Grass is the best Asian restaurant by far in Thurston County. You'd be hard pressed to find a better Asian restaurant anywhere in the United States in cities the size of Olympia and smaller. This restaurant has a large menu selection, and everything on it is top of the line. From the Various amounts of curry dishes, to the coconut chicken, any one who is a fan of quality Asian food (perhaps not including Indian or Middle Eastern food, but even then I'd be surprised) will leave this restaurant pleased with there meal. It has friendly service, a nice ambiance, and even though the meals cost more at Lemon Grass(still not that expensive) than at say, happy terriyaki, the food is worth the price; especially since Lemon Grass has yet to be tough on the stomach for anyone who I've spoken to about eating there.
Lemon Grass if a 5 out of 5, if you are only in Olympia for one night, this is the place to go for good Thai food, and an enjoyable, relaxed meal.
Pros: Abience (though it is a slightly small restaurant), food, variety
Cons: not really, sometimes you have to wait 10- 20 minutes because of the size. worth the wait i assure you

Hearing about Lemon Grass from a friend, we had to give it a try. We were very pleased. My husband loves Thai food and he was MOST impressed by the taste. The restaurant is small and nothing fancy....but the food is quite good. We have discovered that people find the wait well worth it. Each time we've been, the place is packed. The food really is wonderful. Give it a try!
Pros: Inexpensive, Good Location

I read in the PI that they were in heaven when they ate at the Lemon Grass...I'm sorry but did I miss something? The food was AVERAGE--nothing great, and nothing bad. The service was mediocre...the waiters could have been more attentive to our water glasses. The portions was rather small. Of the many places in Seattle that offer Vietnamese, this one doesn't seem to offer anything special really. Yeah, their menu list is incredibly long, but if you really pay attention, most of their options are repetitive with slight variations.
Cons: Mediocre
