This Summer, the AMC Studio 30 Theatre in Olathe is offering Free Movies for kids! (Several other theatres in the AMC family are also offering this program so if you are reading this review and aren't in the Kansas City area, be sure and call your local theater to check whether they are participating.) They call the program 'Summer Movie Camp' and are offering it each Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Seating is limited and tickets are available beginning one week in advance at the box office only. My kids are very excited that we were able to obtain tickets to see the SpongeBob SquarePants movie next week! The movies for the remainder of the Summer include Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Dreamer - PG, & Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - PG. :)

Oh the movies. A no fail place for the first date. Get there a little bit early and the theatre is generally pretty empty allowing for lots of time to get to know each other. The seats are wonderfully comfortable, and the pricing is fair for tickets and food. Probably my favorite feature is the arm rests fold up allowing for easy access to cuddling with your date. And if you enroll in the free program, you can earn free concessions. Yay!

Why is this movie theater different from the rest? Let me start with the seats; the comfort and features of a basic recliner with the practicality and size of a first class airplane seat. As with most movie theaters the concessions can be pricy but if you become a member of their free reward program youll be one your way to free tickets and concessions for the more movies you see. There is a dollar discount for seniors and for students as long as you show a valid I.D. The best time to go is on a week night; the theaters are pretty empty so you can kick back and relax, quietly chat with your friends and kids, and get a refill, snacks or go to the restrooms, without bumping a dozen peoples knees on the way out of the aisles!
