Don't want to be too wordy. Believe me when I say I could be. I'm a 6 handicap and have been playing golf for 42 years. Okc's public courses, cumulatively, are phenomenal. Ratings from easiest to hardest; 7) Earlywine South = Not worth playing UNLESS you are just beginning. 6) Hefner South = Can be fun, but short with some severe designing flaws (holes 10, 11, 14 and 16 mainly). 5) Hefner North = Usually in great shape, this course is fun and great for your confidence (as in 'not hard'). Wide open now, but when those trees grow up (another 20 years) it'll start to get at least a little tough. 4) Lincoln East = Played from the tips, this is a really fun and challenging course. Don't bother playing any other tees unless you're looking for a confidence boost. 3) Lincoln West = True Maxwell feel, i.e. have you ever played Southern Hills? Shotmakers course. You gotta love Perry Maxwell. 2) Trosper Park = Decievingly tuff. Course is now starting to develop a personality after it's redesign. It's getting some definition, has the best greens in town (no debate) and has the best finishing hole of any public course (also, no debate). You could argue this to be the best finishing hole in TOWN. 1) Earlywine North = Great, great course with trouble EVERYWHERE. Don't play here unless you know what you're doing!
