Playmakers is a fantastic sporting good store that looks like a large-chain store. It is locally owned and used to be in the Meridian Mall in Okemos, now it is just down the street on Grand River.
The new store is HUGE, and is rather breathtaking. When you walk inside, you are immediately drawn to the back of the store where you'll see a huge rock formation which forms the second level, along with tropical plants and a mural of paradise.
Whether you're shopping for sporting clothes, or just want to see a fantastically designed store, check out Playmakers. I highly recommend it.

The staff here is quite nice. The selection is ok, not amazing or anything but you only need one wedding dress so the selection is fine for that. Overall the store is a little bit small but they have a lot in it. This is a great place to go for a bridal dress or a prom dress. Nice location, good service. They seem to have reasonable prices. Great location.

When I lived in the Lansing area, this was the only place I could find shoes AND get good, solid advice about what to do when I needed something different (e.g. Nike changed the design of their Air Pegasus which I wore religiously and the staff at Playmakers helped me find a comparable, if not better Adidas shoe to replace it).
Pros: Knowledgeable staff, abundant selection.
Cons: Prices average to higher than average.

This place is HUGE !!! I have had good luck finding a few nice things to wear here, for myself, my hubby and children AND I have had pretty good luck selling a few things on consignment here.
My only reason for not giving them a perfect 5 stars is that I often find stains or flaws on merchandise on the floor for sale,...which I turn into them...but there is some room for improvement in that area.
Just look over anything before you buy...cause they don't take returns on most stuff.

I was pleased with the knowledge of the tuxedos and willingness to help from the sales team. They answered every question thoroughly and with patience! This gallery is more known for the framing works. They have a wide range of frames available for your wonderful paintings and photos. They also have some other gift items. Customers service is excellent and you feel welcome right from your entry into the shop till the time you exit. Price may be moderately high but the quality is good.

If you want unusual, artistic floral designs...this is the place!!! The owner and the designers are skilled designers. I have had them do traditional displays and they can do that too!!! CC is a full-service florist...they can help you send flowers out of town, they will deliver them in the area, they will whip something up while you wait. they also have one of the best selections of unusual cut flowers in the area.

Before you visit any jewelry store in the mall, be sure to visit the independant jewelers around the area. One great example of this is Medawar Jewelers. They have locations around Lansing and in Jackson, I believe.
Their prices and quality actually beat the larger stores like Zales, JB Robinson, etc. I only wish that I would have visited this store before I purchased the diamond engagement ring for my wife a few years ago from Zales. Their service is horrible, Medawar, however, is excellent.
They have a huge selection and are always eager to help you choose the perfect item.
