I stopped in Dolle's SEVERAL times during my vacation in OC this summer. They are located at the very beginning of the Boardwalk before 1st street. Dolle's offers a wide variety of pre-packed & self-serve candies ranging from regular & sugar-free taffy, fudge, chocolate-covered everything and caramel apples. I can't even imagine how many lbs of salt water taffy I consumed that week. I only bought taffy this time. Their selection is enormous! Definitely stop by if you are wanting to pick your own flavors as opposed to buy a pre-packaged box.

On my 2 trips to Ocean City, we've eaten here both times at least once.
Searched high and low and asked many many people- Being from Western NY... there are no great restaurants in my area for seafood. We like to eat what is local when we vacation- After asking many people we were told Bahama Mama's was the place to go for the best crab in Ocean City.
The restaurant was great- you could eat indoors or outdoors.. We chose outdoors-- the table we sat at gave us a beautiful view of the bay. A great ocean breeze and it was quieter outside than in. What better place to eat crab then outside to enjoy the whole feel of the beach.
We when we ordered we were told that crabs were priced by weight-- that way you got what you paid for... Crabs are separated into 4 groups, small, medium, large and extra large- $29/dozen for small up to $69/dozen extra large. OK so a bit pricey for a Western NY girl--- but they were so worth it- We went for the dozen of Large-- There were 3 of us ladies- We also got corn on the cob, bbq chicken, and veggies.. The meal was great!
The servers were so wonderful as well as the service--- A plastic pail was brought to us to put the shells when we finished-- this was neat--- and it was emptied frequently so that we weren't overcome with shells.. I laughed when the brought us a roll of paper towels--- I noticed they did this for people who ordered crabs... When we finished (we ordered another dozen of large crabs) I was surprised at how many paper towels we used-- that a great idea after all we all said.
So anyways the restaurant got a 4 star review from us... Truly the best crabs we've had anywhere-- and the best view too.
If you take a trip to Ocean City.. be sure to check out Bahama Mama's... Its well worth the cost!

While we were in Ocean City, we went to eat at Hall's Restaurant on Coastal Hgwy. I was a little taken back by the prices and they did not have a lot of selections to choose from.
Their all you can eat buffet was $27.00 plus. It had a lot of seafood like crab legs, clams, steamed shrimp, fried shrimp, beef, vegetables. This was not what I was in the mood for. I am sure a few of you would have loved this choice. They also had a chicken finger appetizer but I thought it might be just a few pieces of chicken and I was hungry. I got one crab cake for almost $18.00. It was well worth it. It was large and very good, great big hunks of crab. It came with a baked potato and a very nice house salad. Others at the table got the chicken fingers for six dollars and some cents. It was large and they said the chicken was good. I would have been happy with that also. My husband ordered the crab soup that he said was really good.
Everyone was happy with what they got. The service is very slow. The drinks came two seconds before the meal. I had to ask for my salad. They forgot to bring glasses for the beer.
I would go there again because the food is good but I would go before I was too hungry so that I would not mind the wait.

We rented a condo here while in Ocean City for our conference. The condo was lovely and nicely decorated. The rooms had plenty of beds and were comfortable. Each room has a balcony and both sides of the building have a water view. The price was very reasonable and the security guard on duty was very friendly and helpful. They also have a pool and ocean access.

I recently had the opportunity to be in the Roadway Inn in Ocean City. It was $71.00 a night and it was nice. It was small but it was on the beach. They had an inside pool which was very nice. There were tables with umbrellas and lounges. The room had a two-seat sofa, table and four chairs, two double beds, small refrigerator, Iron, ironing board, hair dryer and bureaus to put your clothes in. It is located off of 29th street. I would recommend this as a very nice place to stay. I almost forgot to mention they have a nice parking lot so you don't have to worry about finding a place on the street.

Fisher's is another place you cannot leave OC without visiting. They offer the best caramel popcorn known to man. The key is to get it hot and fresh, though it's still very tasty packed up in a bucket to take home. With or without peanuts. Prices have been rising, but are still fairly reasonable. Almost always a long line, be patient--it's worth the wait!

More
The first (and unfortunately the only) time I visited Ocean City was in the early nineties. We were visiting our "cousins" (old family friends) who live in Glen Dale and we went to OC for the week-end.
The sand was soft, there were nets set up for a pick up game of beach volley-ball, and there was a boardwalk! I've seen lots of things like it on television (American tv, of course) but have never experienced it before.
There was carni games (complete with a ferris wheel), cheesy souvenir shops, an arcade -- it even had one of those "Voltar" machines ('member from "Big?"), and food stands that was so totally different from anything I had experienced at the time (keep in mind I was still a teenager then) that I had a thoroughly enjoyable week-end getaway. So much so, that I still have fond memories whenever I hear a song that played that summer.
Since then, I've been to the Santa Monica Pier; if you like the Pier, you'll like OC. But, that's just my opinion.
Sorry I don't have details of lodging; I didn't make the reservations, do any of the driving, nor have to pay for the room (thanks to the 'rents!). But I do remember it was walking distance to the beach and I experienced the most beautiful sunrise ever -- over crashing waves.
