I spent one night in the Write Inn - it has a great location, but for the price, the room was small, bland, and motel-like. The building itself is charming and the bed was comfortable, but the hotel doesn't offer the reliable inexpensive comfort of a chain motel OR the upscale comfort of a really nice hotel.
Pros: Great location in Oak Park
Cons: Dated and dumpy furnishings

The Write Inn is just 2 blocks up Oak Park Ave from the Lake St. El stop. It is a nice hotel with a cute bistro downstairs. The rooms are typical, nice and clean. Be careful though, one of the times I stayed here it was full and I got one of the rooms they let out long term, and it was very dingy and smelled smoky.
