When you hear bar food, you think about burnt burgers and stale fries or chips. That's certainly not the case at The Avenue Ale House in Oak Park. The setup is extremely casual and set around a center bar area. You can either sit in the bar area or in a seperate dining room area. Also, in the summertime they offer a beautiful roof top terrace to dine in. They not only offer delicious burgers, appetizers, salada and sandwiches. They also offer premium dinners such as Steaks, Chicken, Lamb, Pork and Fish. The dinners are prepared fresh throughout the day and they also offer different specials everyday. Try the chili! It's fantastic. Comes with onions, jalapenos, cheese and extra hot sauce! One of their specials is half price appetizers during the week at specific times. Also, their martini's are worth a look as well! They offer great drink specials as well. They are a bit pricey though.

Puree’s has surprisingly good thin crust pizza, and I say surprisingly because no one in our household has yet come up with a definite reason why it’s better than thin crust pizzas from other places in the area (my wife claims there’s some blend of spices in the sauce that tastes better, but to be honest, I can’t tell). In any case, the pizza is good enough that we order carryout regularly (there’s nothing wrong with the dining area, mind you—we just prefer eating their pizza at home). I would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the usual pizza-chain options.

This restaurant is very authentic. Their food of course is , but so is their decorations and the atmosphere, they even play Chinese music on their stereo.
The food however is the best part. They offer lunch specials, but if you can't make it during those times the prices are still reasonable and the service is great too. I really enjoyed their soup and shrimp fried rice that was served with tea also. This little section of Oak Park is very charming with alot of shops and restaurants and of course the theater is only aprox. a block away.

I love the atmosphere at Mama Thai Restaurant, it's charming and fun...something you might only expect to see in the city. Even if you choose to have delivery for Mama Thai's you won't be disappointed. Even though the food selection is a bit limited everything I have had here has been excellent. If your hungry for Thai this is, in my opinion, the best place to get it in the area.

Normally, La Bella in Oak Park is a tad too “rich” (in terms of style and Italian cuisine) for me to go there on a casual night out on my own or with friends. However, if you’re single and looking for an Italian restaurant that puts you in a favorable light on that all-important first date, La Bella is the ticket. They have a wide and impressive selection of Italian dishes, and the slightly refined atmosphere is lively but not deafening during the dinner hour (great when you and your date have stuff to talk about, and great for cushioning the impact of any awkward silent moments). The chicken pasta dishes are safe (but tasty) choices, and while the place is definitely a notch up from casual, it’s not too rough on the wallet.
