I love this place. It is a teeny little office on International, near the freeway, and the people are so nice. And, best of all, getting my cat neutered cost only twenty dollars. They didn't care that he wasn't in a carrier (on account of having broken it on the way over). On the other hand, when he came back to me he was not just tipsy (as they noted) but trembling with fear. It's normal for him when he leaves the house and it's possible that it didn't start till after I'd received him. And anyway - $20 spaying.

I love both this and the Berkeley location. They have good prices, and on top of the good prices, if you buy three of most things the fourth one is free. If I buy a flat of my catfood all at once, I get two dollars off. A lot of my money there goes to local shelters or other local animal support. Often they have flyers at the front counter telling people, for example, that they can buy supplies for fostered kittens and puppies at a discount and have the supplies donated straight to the foster families. And maybe best of all, they have an incredible return policy. In theory, their policy is that they'll accept any quantity of returned pet food with a receipt, and anything else with a receipt, but my experience has been that I can walk in with a mostly-used bag of food and exchange or return it with no questions asked and no receipt. They are wonderful here!

This pet store is located in the Dimond District and is very convenient for folks in the Glenview neighborhood. The people are nice and there is a decent variety of pet products available. But, the thing that is really amazing to me is that my dog actually seems to like taking a bath there. He hates baths at home. He also hates baths at the larger and more institutional "Petco" store. But, for whatever reason, he feels pretty darn comfortable here. My best guess is that the place just has a good vibe for animals (and it is pretty decent for people, too). Definitely check it out.
