These guys have been here forever. This is an old-school business and it breaks my heart to think they may not be there forevermore. But how do they survive? In any case, I like to support them, keep them alive. Plus, they save me money on new shoes. It’s a win-win, so patronize the nice cobbler folks.

Clausen House's thrift shop has everything. I just bought a ton of sheets there the other day, plus a $5 and a $3.50 pair of pants. They have children's bike helmets, games and movies, tableware and books. It's all crammed into a small space but it's great savings and it benefits their nonprofit! Oh, and they have a lot of great furniture for sale hanging around outside.

I had been to this lingerie shop once. A co-worker had referred to it because I was looking for a really nice anniversary gift for my wife and wanted to get her something extraordinary that you don't see in common stores like Frederick's and Victoria's Secret. This place fit the bill. They had some really nice quality lingerie and the staff were very nice and helpful in assisting me with my selection.

Snazzy shoes abound. They are all, of course, outside my price range, but I love to browse here anyway. High fashion. Too high for me. I feel like Sarah Jessica Parker. Manolos are way out of my budget, but it feels fun to try them on, so I do. You can too.

I never quite find what I want to get there, but do seem to pick up things that I don't expect to find. There are a ton of boots and heals here, so males and females may be able to find the unique shoes that have been evading them for some time. The prices here range from low to high, depending on the items.

It's not Beverly Hills, it's Oakland..this i didn't mind. i went into the place looking for a wig. i'm ethnic, thus it was difficult to find the type of wig that wasn't "glossy" or just plain "wiggish"..never found one..When i walked in, the Asians can barely speak English.
I was directed to go to the "wig room" which was basically an open space with a counter. An old woman was helping people find the "right" wig. i sat in horror watching this old asian woman telling several clients at different times: "This rook good" "This rook good on you"..There was one woman in particular, a heavy set African american lady whom the wig lady donned a brassy blonde fall wig on. When the "Wig lady" walked away ..the young lady looked over at me and asked "Excuse me, what do you think?" i gave the "slash across the throat" gesture..she said, "I thought so"..i pointed to a wig that was far more fitting..she tried it on, and liked it..
i realized the wigs that the "Wig lady" says "rook good" are the most expensive in their collection - which wasn't saying much..i tried on a few, and didn't like the selection at all, just cheap wigs..as i was walking out, the "wig lady" said "you pay one dolla" it was for the wig cap..these were strewn on a desk, and you had to put them back when you were done...they actually looked like used black knee-high stockings..
i gave her $20.00, she didn't have change, pointed to the front to go get it..at the front the woman said, "you have to wait for someone to buy something, i can't give you change"..so i walked out..there was hardly anyone in there TO buy anything in the first damn place...
Pros: great ethnic hair product selection
Cons: when the wig lady says "rook good"..find another wig..

I don't know. On one hand, I don't eat foods whose names end in "loaf" and I don't shop in places whose names end in "barn." On the other hand, I feel bad making fun of them. Their fluorescent-lit stable of polyester and rayon skirt-suits with giant spangles and shoulder pads, all in colors like fuschia, lime, and royal blue... just incites pity in me.
