Odyssey video is by far my favorite place to rent a movie. They have a wide selection of new movies and classics. They are always playing classic movies in the store to set a great atomosphere. The best deal is on tuesdays and thursdays every movie in the store is 99 cents to rent. Every new release is only 99 cents. I go to odyssey all the time even with a blockbuster just across the street. Check out Odyssey video when you are in the area.

Eddie Brandt's is not like any other video store you've ever been in. In the mecca of the American movies, if you absolutely must track down the most obscure foreign film or lost episode of a film serial from the 1950's, Eddie Brandt's is where you go. If they don't have it on video, it doesn't exist. In fact, they have tons of programming that was never released on home video--they tape obscure films and television shows off late night television, and lend them to you free out of their library (you have to be a member for $15, and I believe you have to rent a regular movie along with your library item). The staff also has an encyclopedic knowledge of world film history. Give them an obscure tangential reference to a movie you saw twenty years ago and they will immediately know what you are talking about and get it off the shelf for you. Believe me, go there and you will be amazed.

I love trying different food from other cultures. I came across this Bolivian restaurant through a co-worker. Their food is just the best! You have a lot of variety and worth the price you pay. Try their saltenas ( empanadas), they are delicious!

Angelino's is a true hidden find in the North Hollywood area. During lunch, my co-workers would come here and one day I accompanied them - I'm so glad I did. I've been a loyal customer since.
Angelino and his wife are kind, warm, and friendly and the food is top notch. Their garlic bread, pasta sauces, and meats are cooked and seasoned to perfection, although, my favorite is their amazing pizza. It's nice to have Italian food that's rich, but not heavy or greasy.
I have since changed jobs and am in a different part of town, but once in a while I make the drive to grab some wonderful Italian food and it only makes me wish I was still close by.
Pros: The excellent food, the superior service
Cons: Bad parking, the bathroom door sometimes doesn't lock

Do you truly love BBQ like I do? If that answer is yes then you had better try this place! Thanks to those that reviewed it before me, their reviews encouraged me to give Kansas City BBQ Company a try.
I don't claim to be a BBQ expert. Most of my life the only BBQ I had was in NYC where I was born and raised. I've had BBQ in Atlanta and Texas a few years ago. I then realized NYC BBQ has nothing on the south! I've tried several places in LA and none compare to what I experienced last night at KC BBQ. Let's start with the sides...Baked Beans and Potato Salad. As the woman recommended, the baked beans were sooo delicious! It looked as if they had pieces of brisket in them. Potato Salad was good and seemed fresh but I've had better. The Ribs, one word...SCRUMPTIOUS! I had the Beef and Baby Back. They were full of smoke, an incredible rub and lightly brushed with the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted! If I didn't live so far - Torrance, I would have gone back today to try more of their food. I had already been at Universal City which is about two miles away. The woman taking my order was very nice and was interested in knowing how I found out about it. They also serve beer on tap which looked really good. Anyhow, these might be the best ribs I've ever had! I'm sure there's probably better, but in this town, KC BBQ is the only one that exceeded my expectations. I am foaming at the mouth just thinking about those ribs! If I had to chose between the Beef and Pork Baby Backs, I'd say get both! I can't wait to go back!!

I recently went for one of the wine tastings on their patio, what a great spot to just sit and enjoy some nice wine after a busy day at work. We ordered the cheese plate to go along with it. The staff was very attentive. I would like to come for lunch one time as I see they have a prefix lunch special for only $10, you cant beat that.
Pros: wine flight, patio, plenty of parking

my husband and i dread moving. After 3 unsuccessful moves where we were charged for every little piece of tape, i really did some research and found Laprom Moving; and could not be happier. From the salesman initially booking my move, to the foreman and crew, i was satisfied throughout the whole process.

This is yet another one of those buildings I've passed countless times, wondered what it was like in there and then kept on driving. I am an advocate of natural products and use many myself. So on a weekend out I decided to stop by and see if this was the undiscovered treasure I thought it was. The storefront is tiny, so I expected a cozy little shop. But to my surprise, it extends behind it into a huge warehouse (something I never noticed!) The price list includes literally hundreds of botanicals for medicine and teas, supplements and vitamins, essential and fragrant oils. The selection is a staggering array and all at rock bottom prices. And when compared to all the hip little vitamin shops you'll really see how deeply discounted they are. They also have a huge catalog that includes things like echinacea and Golden Seal extract, Ginko Biloba powder, and Cat's Claw capsules. (I easily found a staple for me - Feverfew.) They also carry some beauty products like cleasing creams and fragrant soaps. There are so many products there that I can't even begin to remember it all. I will no longer bother going back to my old vitamin shop. This store has it all and then some (and then some!) And with the prices they offer you'll have a hard time finding a reason not to shop there.
