George Garner Cyclery has locations in Northbrook, Libertyville, and Lake Zurich. DH had been searching for a new bike the last few months. The folks at George Garner Cyclery in Northbrook on Waukegan Road were especially helpful with some good advice, and he ended up purchasing his new bike there (a 27 gear specialized Crossroads Elite bike, which has special flat protection tires, padded grips, rapid fire shifters which minimize wrist movement, and an upright seating position for a more comfortable, longer distance ride.) He also found that test driving the bike outside the store was very helpful in deciding on the bike he ultimately ended up buying.

I've bought bicycle equioment from them and had a bike tuneup done. They have a good selection at fair prices. They are one of two local stores for this national web seller of bicycle equipment. The prices in the store are not always the same on the web site, but if you bring in an add, then they will honor the web price. They do a good job and are a good choice for bicycles and gear in Northbrook.
