Recently, we purchased a dining room table and chairs from Plunkett Furniture. Their entire staff was magnificent. Plunkett designers found us the perfect piece to compliment our existing china cabinet. To our delight, the Plunkett sales person informed us that the chairs were on clearance because the set was discontinued. Due to the clearance, there were no end chairs (with arms) available. Not to worry though. At no additional cost, their skilled craftsman installed arms on two of the chairs we purchased. Now, we are very proud of our dining room, and can't wait to host over the holidays. Goodbye Wicks and Walter E. Smith. Hello Plunkett.

I have been to several different Plunkett Furniture stores over the years and have had great experiences at them all. Most recently my wife and I purchased several pieces from the Hoffman Estates store. The experienced staff was very helpful and made us feel comfortable in our decisions. The furniture was delivered on time and looks great. The rewards of buying furniture through a shop like Plunkett paid off again and we will continue to enjoy the furniture for many years to come! Pros: Modern show room, great parking, excellent staff

After remodeling our master bedroom and den/tv room, we finally came to terms with the reality that our furnishings did not quite do justice to the rooms. So we sucked it up and paid a visit to Plunkett Furniture in Northbrook, where we'd never been but always admired from the Edens. What a pleasant surprise to find out that the prices were reasonable and the service amazing! We were greeted warmly at the door, and the salesperson had a ridiculous sense of style and knowledge. We were thrilled and I'm happy to promote this family company to any and all.

After 2 years I am still having problems with Plunkett in Northbrook. I have spoken with customer service, 2 managers and John Plunkett himself. There is not one person within the company that cares about customer service, my most recent problem has had me talk to customer service 3 times which of course I had to call each of the 3 times because nobody will call back (Marcia) and then I spoke with the manager at Northbrook (Warren) he told me a week ago that he would call me back and surprise no call back. I told Warren that I was a little dissappointed after spending thousands of dollars at a store and I have to fight with them to stand behind their merchandise, Warren tells me that I can only see that you have bought one thing from us which obviously determines how much respect you get. I hope someone from Plunketts sees this and has a wake up call. Pros: None that I can see Cons: Everything from the second you walk in the door.

Like others I have scene on other review boards, I had trouble getting them to deliver items I had bought and paid for. I had ridiculous problems with them trying to rectify a piece they delivered damaged. First it was difficult to get them to replace the item which was cracked completely through on the wood (of a sofa arm). They finally did replace it, but again with a sofa that was damaged. They relatively easily sent a third, but that too was damaged. Although this was annoying, the worst was their managers and customer service. Customer service (Peggy) straight up lied and said they along with the warehouse manager opened the third box and inspected it and it was fine. Well, the third box came clearly sealed from the manufacturer and the delivery guys even said that that is how it was still unopened from the manufacturer. The manager of the store never returns call. Customer service doesn't return calls more often than not. The salespeople are average, but the after the sale customer service is horrible. I still haven't resolved this. Now that I want to give up and just return the piece, they are making it difficult. The customer service person hung up on my wife when she said we had enough and wanted to have the item picked up and a full credit. In addition, after doing far more furniture shopping than I ever really care to do, there prices are too high for their quality. Pros: Good selection Cons: Nightmarish customer service
