I got the lobster pie which had walnut stuffing, the stuffing was so sweet it completely took away from the taste of the lobster, my baked potato was slightly warm. his steak tips looked like they were cut from from a mold. We spent most of the time fighting off the mosquitos , which made for an unpleasant evening there.

The charm of this restaurant is the history behind the original structure of the building which dates back to 1696 with creaky floors, low ceilings and New England Charm. The portions are huge and well worth the prices which can be on average over $11 an entree. The chicken pot pie is a favorite and loaded with meat and vegetables and the mashed potatoes are particularly fabulous. They even have live dancing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights with a very lively bar area. The function rooms are great little rooms for parties too.

This restaurant has THE best sweet potatoe fries. When I first went here, I thought the food was a little pricey until I saw the HUGE portions. Do NOT order a large fry unless you have a big family with you! It comes on a huge plate stacked up full. The food is usually quite good too. PROS: Extremely generous portions CONS: quite loud/ noisy in restaurant, difficult to hear a conversation

Just had the best Baked stuffed Lobster ever and variety at our table was Prime rib, BBQ ribs, King Crab legs,Mussels Marinara, Land & Sea (filet & Bk Stuffed Shrimp) fantastic stuffing and great portions. Everyone enjoyed. No room for desert but saw a couple of great ones being served always mean to leave room, next time. Were there on a Fri, evening stayed for cocktails,entertainment and dancing in the lounge. We will be returning often. Pros: variety, portions, price

wow did someone have a bad experience? I don't think I was in the same place. what I experienced was a well run family business that takes pride in serving fresh home made food. have been regular customers since our first visit -never been disappointed. Portions are unbelieveable large and prices are more than reasonable. I have never been served a Lobster pie with just fresh Maine lobster tails only, they serve it here and serve it delicously. Everything is home made even the tarter sauce. filet was as good or better than I've had at "white tablecloth " restaurants. By the way their burger is better than Mc D (had to put that in). soup, chowder chicken whatever -never been disappointed. Holiday decorations were unbelievable and staff polite and friendly. It's always busy but not overwhelming and if there is a wait (on the week-ends)it is never that long. Pros: quality, quantity, price
