If you're planning a weekend visit to Norman for a big OU game, or on vacation, make your reservations early... at a different motel! Before I was familiar with the area, I went in, inquiring about a room. I immediately saw that their rates were high, considering the average hotel and motel rates in the area. It is only a few blocks from the OU campus, but there are also others in the area. The manager gave me the key to look at a one bedroom unit. I wasn't impressed with the outer appearance of the motel, but wasn't horrified either. It wasn't until I actually saw the inside of the room that I was disgusted. The rooms are filthy, the furniture ragged and stained. To be honest, I would not stay in this place with my child for free. Also, since I've lived in Norman, I have learned that the OU Motel has a reputation for having many drug and prostitution related arrests. Check out the area, and make reservations early so you can stay somewhere clean and safe! PROS: CONS: overpriced, filthy

I was looking for a place to stay for a short time, with no lease, in Norman. I saw an ad for the OU Motel in the newspaper classifieds. I went to check out the rates and the location, and was very disappointed. There was no way that I would feel safe staying there, even for a short time, with my young son. You could tell just by looking around that it was a very drug infested area. I actually went inside one of the rooms to see what the inside was like, and it was horrible. The rooms were filthy! The rates were actually higher at the OU Motel than at competing motels that were much, much nicer. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
