We went here because we had heard good things. We should have known better when we pulled in and could not park in one of the only two handicapped parking spots because an irresponsible employee had parked a golf cart in it. We had to go to the end of the parking lot. We then could not find an employee to buy our passes from. When my husband went to go look for someone he was yelled at for being in an UNMARKED restricted area. It is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. The staff is rude. Don't go here!

I went for the first time out to little river zoo. I was shocked to realize you had to take a tour. So we went along with it the first girl we had April was a great tour guide she new what she was talking about and had some sort of story about all of the animals. We got about half way through the tour, got to pet some farm animals. Then we had to switch tour guides. The second girl was young named Carey. Whom had actually been there long then the first guide April. She did not do a good job at all. She had no stories to tell what so ever. Sounded like she was making stuff up the whole way through. Needless to say next time I go I will request in advance for April to be our tour again.

While this place may not be as flashy as bigger zoos, they have some of the friendliest keepers and some really great animals. They have a lot of animals that bigger zoos dont even have. This is a great place to take kids. This is a wonderful zoo that is very enjoyable, as long as you don’t mind getting a little messy.

The Little River zoo started as a just a protection center where a family would heal animals and raise abadoned young animals. Now it has developed into a zoo equipped with some of the most adorable animals you will ever encounter. There used to be a blind kangaroo, an albino peacock, and a baby mountain lion. The zoo constantly rescues animals from all around the nation. Be sure to stop by and see them!

I was privileged to be at Little River Zoo when they unveiled the new bear enclosure to the new bears. The bears had come from a place where they had spent their whole lives in a small bedroom sized cage.
They are now happy critters! They have grass to lay in and trees to climb in. They are glad they made their way to Little River Zoo, and you will be too!
