More
These are some of the nicest most comfortable mens shoes out there. Just be prepared to brn a hole in your wallet to buy a pair. Including sales tax you will most likely spend $300+ for a pair. These are extremely conservative understated shoes that you would wear to an important business meeting or a semi-formal event. The leather is so soft and the designs are classic so once you've bought a pair if you treat them right you can wear them for years.

This is a hard one to review. On the one hand it's a real institution with knowledgable (if harried) sales staff and a great selection. On the other hand, its prices are consistently higher than all of their competition. They seem to have a very devoted following nonetheless. . .so many people think it's worth it. I get a bit annoyed at their refusal to play by the standards of the market.

To sum the Naturalizer up, they sell casual shoes, from the younger conservative group to the middle aged person whom both like quality, long lasting durable shoes. These are not luxury shoes, but not cheap either. The average pricing of a pair runs around $60. Most of the shoes are considered casual, comfortable, and look better with jeans or casual shorts. They are still girly and feminine though. Most have conservative heels and by gosh, they are so comfortable I can walk and shop all day wearing them.

More
If you are looking for a 'one time use' pair of pretty inexpensive shoes, then check out this place. Their prices are low, but it pretty much matches the quality you'll receive. Take caution to get the right size, or perhaps one size bigger if the material isn't leather as it won't give much - and even the low price isn't worth aching feet and blisters. If you go around rush hour or lunch time, be prepared to wait for help and also to pay.

Strawberry is a rare inexpensive place to get clothing in New York. Every time I go I really have to dig to find the kind of style I like though - it is more geared toward a younger crowd. They have a nice selection of brand name shoes though for cheaper than usual shoe stores and tons of accessories to choose from. Decent store, recommend taking a look.

We've taken our kids here many times for shoes. They've got all the name brands like Nike and Rebokk but if you want to save some money you can go for the Stride Rite. Service is good - they seem to know what they're doing. The store can get a bit busy on weekends especially just before school starts.

Tip Top Shoes has The Best Selection of shoes on the Upper West Side. They have lots of salesmen (I've never seen a woman iselling shoes, only working the cash register) to help you. One time, my salesman did have something of a meltdown and left the store. I don't think I was being too demanding a customer, but I felt badly for him. I've almost always been ablet o find what I am looking for, and the salesmen kindly offer encouragement and support. They don't always know what they are talking about in terms of what I might like, but they seem to know their shoes. They also always have a discount rack for discontinued models.

More
I have loved this store for years and am so happy they are still around. They carry some of best made and truly classic pair of shoes. I'm not a shoe hound like some of my girlfriends, but if I were, this place would have my whole paycheck every week. They are pricey, but really worth the money. Great quality and comfortable considering that most of their sizes are in Euro. I still have a pair of boots I got for myself 6 yrs ago and they look brand new and I usually walk my poor shoes to death. A good shoe investment.

I promised my wife some fancy shows for my brother's wedding...and boy was I surprised when she took me here. This place has some cool-looking stuff. Sandals, mules, stilettos, flats, salon shoes...if its in fashion, they have it.
I am still not sold on how comfortable alot of these shoes are, but they sure stylish.
