ah, the power of cheese. I am a long admirer of the creamy stuff, but I can't pretend to know much about it. Murray's inspires you to become an aficionado. Who knew a little bit of dairy could bring so much variety. I wouldn't recommend going on a weekend-too crowded.

BUT a really nice work friend of mine's family owns it. It's a Korean Bodega that just opened up this year & are still figuring out the ropes. They're just a really nice family & single mother trying to make it in the States. Please stop by if you happen to be in the neighborhood & if it's good, go back again!

I love Wajima. This is a Japanese owned restaurant with Japanese staff and the food is very authentically Japanese. Their lunch specials are great, and their dinner specials are even better. It's twenty dollars for a full three course meal before 7pm. The staff is very friendly and great, I can't say enough good things about the place. The decor is low key, but very nice (a little on the plain side, but I like that). Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Vero Wine Bar is a little slice of happiness found within a wine and antipasti bar. It's sleek exterior stands out away from the more family-friendly, sunnier establishments, providing a cool lounge ambiance for those who want the hipness, but don't want to travel very far.
The food is great and great for sharing, whether you're having the bruschetta, antipasti, and paninis. Along with that is their extensive wine list, either by the glass or by the bottle, making it so easy to while away an evening here just chatting away with friends.

I had dinner the other night at Voyage, and man was it good. It was super quiet, cozy , and relaxed, which is completely unheard of for a restaurant in the West Village on a Friday night. Plus super cute front bar area seems to be a good spot just to grab drinks, but I don't know why you would want to go here without eating. Just walk on by the Spotted Pig down the street, and walk straight into Voyage.

If you're a huge fan of paninis, 'ino is a place you should add to you're list of places to check out...if you haven't already discovered their variety of delicious sandwiches by now. The food is great but the prices make things even tastier. If you're old enough, grab some of their great wine to go along with your panini to truly immerse yourself in am enjoyable dining experience. Just writing about it is making me hungry!

More
It's not a place to luxuriate with Turkish rugs, crushed velvet ottomans, Victorian inspired settees, and luminous chandeliers, but SOB's, hands down, remains one of New York's most important clubs as a gateway to world music and cultures from across the globe. Over the past 21 years, the Sounds of Brazil has become a New York staple for African, Asian, Latin, Rhythm and Blues, Reggae and Caribbean sounds, Funk, and all things Soul Music. Willing to test new waters, SOB's plays host to new dance sounds like Basement Bhangra from South Asia and Salsa Groove, a new dance spin on the classic sounds of Tito Puento, Eddie Palmieri, and El Gran. In essence, SOB's is keeping the experimental feel of Manhattan's music culture alive, especially as clubs like CBGBs close and take bits and piece of NYC culture with it.
Nestled off the beaten path in the Village, putting you South of Houston near the Westside Highway, SOB's location alone will give you a sense of something different and underground, making you feel as if you are the first to find out about a new sound, technique, and taste. To draw you closer into the experience, the club also offers a tasty Brazilian inspired menu that compliments the multicultural music that is always center-stage.
There's room to dance, good food, and in between your travels to distant lands, you can find a home at SOBs as a world within the big Apple.

Best Sangria in NYC!!! Living up to expectations, this place is amazing. The red sangria here is by far the best I've had in New York. The downside is that this place does get packed, so make sure to book reservations when you go. There's a backyard/garden area with additional dining that's very cute for medium sized groups. If you're looking for a bar, however, this may not be the best place because the restaurant is on the smaller side. The bar isn't really made for that many people to stand around. Food, however, is amazing here. If you like seafood, try the Hemmingway. A few other recommendations are the Cuban sandwich and the pork chops. Waitstaff is great and really make you feel like family there. Don't forget to make reservations!
