I respect what they are trying to do, and the pasta was good, but there was much too much sauce. We had four different pasta dishes at our table, including their signature Prawn dish, and each was drown in the sauce. In my opinion, they need to feature the pasta more, and cool it on the sauce. It is overpowering. A bit more pasta would be helpful as well, since that is the main course, not a side.
One more thing: it isn't authentic Japanese style pasta wafu. All the dishes were spicy, which is Korean, not Japanese, and oily as well. That doesn't mean it cannot be good, but it isn't Japanese style.
Pros: Good pasta.
Cons: Pasta overpowered by the sauce.

The decor was really cute. Noodles were small and unflavorful. All of us agreed (14 of us) that there wasn't enough flavor nor salt in our dishes. the most disappointing part was the sushi was made of chinese (long grain) rice...i was able to detect that right away b/c it just didn't taste right.
Pros: quaint place
Cons: bland food, sushi not the best

I found Pasta Wafu here on Citysearch one night and we went and had an amazing dinner. Since then my friends and I have been back 4 times and have loved it every time. The sushi is great and the Koren/Italian fusion entrees are superb! My favorite is the Kimchi Shrimp Pasta - you have to try it! The space is very nice and chill and the staff is quite friendly and nice.
Pros: sushi and entrees, ambience, decor
Cons: only serve wine and sake

Anyone waiting on line for Ramen Setagaya should really try this restaurant in the back. You will not understand how this place doesn't have a dedicated line of its own. Simply put, if you like good food and you get bored of the same old menus, go here. All of the pastas were cooked perfectly and the seafood is very fresh, which is probably due to one of the best sushi bars on the lower east side. The sauces for everything are amazing, from the salads, to the filet mignon, to the risottos. The sushi rolls are the kind of pleasant surprises you should expect from any japanese restaurant (probably because the lower east side is one of the worst areas for even decent ones), a combination of consistent standards to the very creative. I find that most fusion spots rate taste only marginally more important than style, which is not the case here. If you need a dish to be convinced, try the king prawn pasta with garlic.
Pros: Sauces, Price
Cons: Parking

Did not know the previous place had closed and went there expecting that. As usual , a line in the front restaurant. The food, although a bit of a disjointed menu, was great. We had a roll with crabmeat that was substantial, well presented and very good....all at a very reasonable price. The pasta was great...a large portion of spicy kimchee pasta that we both loved. We had some appetizers, which I don't remember well, but seem to have decent memories of them tasting pretty good.
Overall, would definitely return. Service was friendly , laidback and helpful. Not sure why they are not busier, but we will definitely be back.
Pros: Food, Cool atmosphere, friendly, great value
Cons: Not sure why it ws not busier.
