I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this restaurant and would not go back. There was nothing at all special about the food and there was nothing outstanding about the menu either. I was expecting a lot more! I will say the service was very good. Although we waited a long time for our table (even though we made reservations) the staff was very apologetic and even picked up our drinks at the bar as well as our coffee and dessert.

A DISAPPOINTMENT, I think this place is over hyped and the food is not good, people I repeat if you think this is great you need to get out more and taste more NY restaurants, I grew up in New york city and still live here so trust me when I say this from a New Yorker's persepective the food is Bleghhh. I had for an appetizer the, braised quail, please do NOT order this thing its perhaps the worst tasting thing I've ever had, it was a mix of sourcrat, Ham or (Spam?!) and a poor not freshly tasting quail and sweet apples?, Awful combination of flavors it was gross!
I then ordered for my entree the Seared Sea Scallops, Ouch, not fresh at all, certainly just ok not delicious not a WOW plate, just blah. If u think this is fresh seafood you're wrong please try other places.
The chocolate mousse was good, but then again its dessert so it doesn't count.
Seriously and i mean this in a good way take your money somewhere else where you will actually get bread before your meal something we didn't even get at this place, so much for great service, I hope this helps and pass it on, Im certainly telling my friends.

Went with friends during the restaurant week. One of my friend ordered the port shank from the promotion menu, it was great. The meat was tender and juicy. Worth a try! Short ribs were good, too. And also the scallops.
Waiters were nice and friendly.
But just a little bit noisy.
Pros: good selection of wine, good food, and friendly staff
Cons: noisy in the restaurant

Very hard to get a reservation here perhaps due to the steady stream of midwestern tourists and their relatives? Anyway, got seated at a crappy table right in the middle of waiter traffic and asked to be moved which they did very politely so that was good. Our waiter was obviously very tired and wasn't willing to discuss the menu i.e me: "how is the mustard encrusted salmon made?" - waiter: "it's mustard encrusted salmon"... uh ok. The arugula with the roasted red pepper and eggplant was quite delicious, the salmon had me running to the toilet after and the mushroom ravioli was soft in some places and hard in others, gross. For desert, the creme brullee choc cake was good but it's something you can buy in any pastry shop and nothing extraordinary. The dining space is quite nice and warm and is charming but that is the only redeeming quality. If the goal is to pack the place up with a steady stream of tourists they are doing a great job. And one other point... there was no eye candy here whatsoever, just a bunch of old people and no De Niro.
Pros: Nice ambience, hostesses had no attitude
Cons: Awful food, cramped seating, tired waiter, boring, no eye candy, lots of old people

This is a nice bar but lacks somewhat in the food service area. Food is average and can be duplicated in many other locations. We enjoyed the atmosphere and having few drinks in a the very cool neighborhood where this establishment is located. I would not visit this restaurant if you are seeking a culinary experience. Great place to go with a crowd of friends.
Pros: Great place to be
Cons: Very average restaurant

Hubby, 2 friends and I went for Restaurant Week. We waited at the bar until our table was ready (we didn't wait long) which I would imagine would be a great place to do happy hour or just meet for drinks. This place is full of people hoping to spot Bobby, but you get his paintings instead. The bathroom is DOWNstairs and the overall atmosphere was decent. The service is just ok, they were really busy and I wouldn't fault our waiter for anything. The food: Everyone enjoyed their salads (couldn't be that had to get wrong), 2 had the african sea bass which was good - needed something else, 1 had the short ribs, the other steak which were both above average. The creamed spinach that accompanied the steak was dreadful - it must have been frozen. Save your money and don't order dessert - go somewhere else. Nothing exciting to write about tastleless chocolate cake. There were a few large groups dining and is probably a nice place to take out-of-towners looking for a downtown New York experience. It would not be worth for us to go back, but would recommend to others just to check out for themselves.
Pros: Drinks were well made
Cons: Very average food

I came here w/ expectations that food would be decent and service would be average, but I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. Restaurant week menus tend to be very boring but I was intrigued by the variety of choices. We were seated promptly for our 6:30 reservation, the place was getting pretty busy already but not packed. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We each had a glass of wine, and ordered the prix fixe menu with the addition of a jumbo lump crab appetizer which was very tasty. The cauliflower soup was yummy with a few seared (mini) scallops. The entree portiions were a tad on the small side, but presentation was nice and both the braised short rib and sea bass entrees was very good. For dessert we had the chocolate truffle cake and peach tart, both were delicious. Overall everything from service, to presentation, to food was very good. Can't say one bad thing. We'll definitely be coming back... especially since their prix fixe menu is all summer long.
Pros: Good service, good food, great value for the prix fixe menu!
Cons: can't say there are any!
