When I lived on 10th & 57th, Burrito Box was my favorite spot to hit on the way home after a long day at work. Even after moving away from the neighborhood, I hit BB when I am around Lincoln Center. The guacamole is great and prices on quesadillas and burritos are hard to beat. They use fresh ingredients and all items are made to order (if you are really hungry when you walk in, indulge in some chips during your wait). It is a small spot, but there are enough stools to pull up a seat at the counter and enjoy your meal (I have never spent more than $10 on a single meal).

The Burrito Box is easy to miss -- it's a tiny little place on 9th Ave, near 58th St. But once you discover it, you'll be hooked. Not only do they make a killer salsa (available in unlimited portions), but they offer a variety of alternatives to traditional Mexican fare for the health-conscious (soy dairy products, endless substitutions for people who are avoiding carbs, etc.). Whether you choose the healthy route or opt for the original cheese and carboholic versions, their menu has something for everyone. It's cheap, delicious, and not to be missed. Excellent burritos.
