Perfect for pre theatre, close to everything, a cut above most in the area, and not a tourist trap feel. The staff is great and aware that you have to make a show... they also have opinions of the shows also so you get good insight. The food is wonderful and service beautiful. Don;t be afraid to split a dinner so that you aren't too full for the show. Love the place.
Pros: great food and close to the show
Cons: if it were not in the theatre district I would go more

first time at bond 45. food was excellent but even better was our waiter. he was extremely friendly, professional, but most important sincere in what he did. typically waiters in the new york area have a certain cocky air about them, but not this young man. he atated his name was john and he was from tampa, fl. not only was he friendly but he new how to turn on the charm with my wife and children, which made our experience wonderful. our food took longer than normal, but his quick wit and charm won us over. the food was well worth the wait, but in could have been another hour and it would not have mattered. sure to return and hope john is available. recommend asking for john if you ever visit bond 45. thanks for a great time.
Pros: great food better service
Cons: food took a little to long

Possibly the worst meal i've had in nyc. How you ruin something as basic as "brick oven chicken" is beyond me. the presentation was almost as disgusting as the food - 4 dried out potatoes and a shriveled chicken carcass. Having eaten in many actual Italian restaurants in new york, i had high hopes for a good meal and instead paid far too much for lousy " italian" food. They say the chef is from Italy, he should go back and see how they do it. The only saving grace was our waitress, she was a real pistol
Pros: service
Cons: everything else

Pros: Great steaks, fish and very reasonable prices
Cons: Looks a little over NEON outside, but this place is killer.

I went there in Feb 08 and I didn't like the food at all, the lasagna was not good at all. I told the waiter for the check instead of complaining. He was nice enough to ask me if there was a problem and I told him I didnt like the lasagna and if there was something else he could get us to compensate and I said just give me a pizza and he did. Although that was not good either, when you can mess up pizza in an italian restaurant that is bad. I still tipped him good, because he was extremely nice.
Pros: Price, taste of food not good
Cons: Service, waiter was very nice

I had a great time at Bond 45. The host was cordial and my waiter was wonderful. He knew the menu inside and out. So he helped me and my guest pick some really great dishes. This is not the first time I've been there either. Everytime I go it's just a delight. The ambiance is gorgeous. It can get a little noisy and quite hectic during the pre-theatre rush though. I highly recommend this place. My friends and colleagues alike love it.

I had a business lunch there yesterday, despite having a reservation, the restauarants MASSIVE size and it not being even remotely full - we were seated in a booth by the bussing station in the back...its the worst table in the place. We were not tourists who walked off the street in shorts and sneakers so I really don't understand why the host felt the need to seat us there. At one point the runner brought us our food and created a log jam with other servers trying to clear plates...that makes a nice dining experience doesn't it? They also put some bulky half screen to block the joy of looking into a bussing station but it just made it more difficult for people to maneuver.
I would deal with it if the restaurant was jammed but it wasn't - there were loads of empty tables. I'm not saying i needed the best seat in the house but I would have liked the host to have shown a little more respect. No one should be seated at that booth unless the place is full and they have no other choice.
Now I would have put up with a lot if the food was decent. It is not. Tell me how hard is it to ruin chicken? Mine was underdone and gummy. For the prices they charge they should be ashamed of themselves. My colleague said his salmon was 'fine' but nothing special, he said a cheap diner in his neighborhood serves a better piece of fish than this place.
I heard this restaurant is owned by a group that has several places in town - one that i actually like - after my experience yesterday i'm never going to any of their restaurants again - I also have a big mouth and lots of business contacts so I'll be spreading the word as well. So if you want overpriced bad food and terrible insulting service please by all means go to Bond 45, The Redeye Grill, Brooklyn Diner, Shellys, Trattoria De' Arte and Fiorellos. In a big restaurant town such as NYC there are far better choices to make for the same prices.
Pros: location
Cons: food, service, attitude
