There are plenty of hot-dog places around the city and street vendors as well. But, this place is my favorite. With a low low price of $2.50 you can enjoy an awesome snack. You get 2 hotdogs and a cup of their exotic fresh fruit drink. I usually get the pina colada, but you can switch it up from the 9 or so choices. This is definitely a bargain meal that is very satisfying. Whenever I walk through past this place, I can't resist my cravings.

If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite, don’t go to one of the street vendors – go right to Gray’s. Their tasty dogs are grilled with your choice of topping, the lines (when there are lines) move fast, and best of all, they’re only 75 cents a dog! Try the “recession special” if you’re there for a meal (or studying for finals and in need of a midnight snack): two dogs and a medium drink for $2.45. The fruit juices are actually pretty good – especially the pina colada flavor.

I think their sauerkraut and relish tastes better. The papaya drink pretty much tastes the same at either place.

Ok, is anyone here hungry? In a hurry? On a budget? You cant beat this deal, one of the better deals here in New York. Where else can you hand over a dollar for hot food and still get change back?... More
Ok, is anyone here hungry? In a hurry? On a budget? You cant beat this deal, one of the better deals here in New York. Where else can you hand over a dollar for hot food and still get change back? Think about it! Its about 95cents per beef hot dog and all the fixins' are free! Sauerkraut, onions, and all the mustard and ketchup you will ever need. For about $2.75, gobble down two hot dogs and a papaya juice! It used to be called the recession special. Gray's seems to always be open. Ive been there for breakfast and at 3am for a midnight snack! Gray's forever!!!!!

I always have to stop by this place whenever i walk by. It has the very yummy hot dogs and at a very good price. At a buck each its great. Where else are you going to get a hot dog for $1? If you are on a budge or just craving hot dogs this is the place to go to.
The drinks are not the best though. I have tried the papaya drink and it was too sweet. I felt like I was drinking sugar water and there was no papaya flavor at all.

Come on: it's Gray's. You haven't heard of Gray's? You can get a traditional dog just like the ones on the street but they don't sit around in vats of grease, meaning they're a lot (for a hot dog) healthier. Plus it's the cheapest place to eat in the city. Two hot dogs and a drink for $2.45. $0.75 a dog. And personally, I think that orange drink is one of the best damn things I've ever had. And, if that's not enough, it's open 24 hours a day. Seriously, if you haven't heard of Gray's, you clearly haven't been a student or out all night.
