The fish cakes tasted like rubbery hot dogs, the
curries weren't even a little bit spicy--though the
flavors were good. I think the "fusion" aspect of
this restaurant (including several Italian menu
items) distracts from the Thai food focus . We were
disappointed, especially since Thai food rarely fails
to be spicy and delicious. Service was fine & atmosphere nice.

The food here was very good. A friend of mine who had recently been traveling in Thailand, swore that the food was similar to what he ate over there. I (of course) had the Pad Thai and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean. It is a large space so even though there were quite a few people there it wasn't too crowded.

The food here is quite good -- especially their Tom Yum soup. The problem is that they have an incredibly outdated delivery area which covers most of the Upper West Side but doesn't actually serve the neighborhood where they reside. Very disappointing bias -- they should keep up with the times. They are missing out on a lot of hungry people with few dining choices around 110th and CPW/Frederick Douglass!

My boyfriend and I dined at Lime Leaf one night when we were looking to try something new. The restaurant ambience was serene and inviting, though our table was a bit small and the seating wasn't very comfortable. I had nowhere to put my purse and so it sat on my lap while we dined. We ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Steamed Dumplings with Sweet Soy Chilli Sauce to start and not only was the presentation impressive, but they were also pretty decent. While we waited for our main entrees, our waitress served some type of airy, light chips with a slightly spicy but tangy, sweet dipping sauce. I wasn't feeling too adventurous that night, so I tried to play it safe by ordering the lobster ravioli. Again, I was impressed by the presentation of the food, though it wasn't one of the best meals I've had, it wasn't terrible either. Because Thai portions are small, my dining partner and I had room for dessert and we ordered the Tiramisu and Banana ? (I cannot recall the name but it was spectacular). Yet again, the presentation was an A+. The prices were reasonable, the meal was okay, the dessert was great and the service was good. I wouldn't say I'd love to go back to Lime Leaf. If I were in the neighborhood, I'd probably try another restaurant. However if I were looking to just have dessert, I'd probably stop in and sample another interesting concoction.
Pros: nice setting, great presentation, good service
Cons: uncomfortable seating, awkward restroom location

Horrible! Placed an order off the menu. Waited for about an hour and called. They told me the order was on the way and to give them just a few minutes. I waited ten minutes. They eventually called me to tell me they did not make the food I ordered (was on the menu). This is One hour and twenty minutes after I placed the order on the phone. They said nothing then. Of course, I ordered from their menu, it was on the menu. So One hour and twenty minutes later I have no food and a lot of aggravation. Avoid this place.

My friend and I shared clamcakes or crabcakes (can't remember which) and spring rolls, and I had the green curry with shrimp while he had the red curry with shrimp. We were warned that the green curry was the spiciest of all and therefore for professionals - what a joke. It would register a 1 out of 5 at Sawatdee in downtown Minneapolis, and in general, this place can't hold a candle to the Thai here in the Twin Cities or in LA. I have no data to judge it against NYC offerings. As the others have noted, the portions are a bit modest for the price. For a place like this the wines are average. We had a bottle of pinot blanc (a new varietal for me) which was light and refreshing but unremarkable. I really like chenin blanc with my Thai (if I don't drink Singha) and this place would be well served to add one. The waitress didn't know what corked wine is when I sampled the wine and approved it. In the capital of the world, all waiters should know wine basics, period.
Pros: good appetizers, ok main courses
Cons: limited wines, subdued spice and flavors, not a stellar value

It falls a little short of authentic because the spice level is dumbed down a great deal for gringo palates that can't handle the heat (like mine!), and there's less use of fish sauce than the real McCoy -- but for what it is, it's not bad at all. We ordered the curry puffs, spicy noodles and pad see ew for delivery. It took 1/2 an hour for the food to arrive in the pouring rain and the delivery person was cheerful, friendly, and nice despite being soaking wet. I consider this pretty good!
It's not the best you'll find in NYC, but for the place and price, it's hard to beat. Next time, we're going to be a little more adventurous in our ordering. There's some fusiony stuff on the menu that look pretty tasty (fried ginger cornmeal-breaded catfish). Now if only they'd offer pho, too.....
Pros: Friendly, speedy, tasty
Cons: more fusion than auth, entic
