I love Big Wong's restaurant; like many of the other "Wong" retaurants in Chinatown, it offers authentic Chinese food at cheap prices. A must try whenever you visit any Wong restaurant are the meat products that they have hanging by the front window. The roast pork and roast pig (yes, there is a difference) are delicious, as are the soy sauce chicken and roast duck. The congees are also pretty good, and my favorite is the tang jai jook, which is the one with the squid and peanuts in it. I usually get the tripe noodle soup, which is my favorite thing to get there. Try some of it, try all of it---Big Wong's is simply delicious.

One of the highlights of this place is the different kinds of Jook (or Congee) that are both affordable and the best of comfort foods -- as classic to Big Wong as their roast porks. Their soy sauce chicken is exceptional. Suggestion from mylast visit there: order the Choy Sum instead of Gai Lan; while Gai Lan is yummy, Choy Sum is half the price ( a tip from the waiter to my Toisan companion -- lucky me! ). This is old school Chinatown good times & has a better reputation than the other Big Wong offshoots (New Big Wong, et al).

A restaurant that's seen more than a decade go by, Big Wong King has a vast variety of foods, all of which are prepared at lightning fast speeds. If you stop by, make sure to try one of their rice crepes -- I've never found anything like it elsewhere.

This restaurant is an oldie. It has been around since as far as I can remember. Nowadays Chinatown has a wide variety of new age restaurants. Most of them with flashy lights and commercial decorative designs. This restaurant has none of that. It is "old school" and the food is as authentic as America Chinese food can be. This restaurant is probably best known for their roast pork. Many older generation chinese parents would go there for their roast pork. The roast pork dish itself is rather plain--just roast pork, rice, and soy sauce. But the specialty dishes is still as good as any other restaurant around Chinatown. Order the Pork Fried Rice, it is my all time favorite. You won't be disappointed.

They also have good wonton soup and traditional foods like beef and broccoli. Also available for take-out. Barbecued meats are priced by the pound, ask for a lean piece if you need it and they will chop the meat up for you or leave it whole, whatever you desire. Very reasonably priced.
