I visited fresh last week after reading a lot of reviews that were mostly very good. I wanted to see for myself if it was that good. The meal ended up being better then expected! The service was great, the presentations of the dishes were stunningly beautiful, and not like most restaurant the dishes tasted better then they looked. Everything at Fresh exceeded our expectations. We stumbled upon this place early on a Friday evening while walking around Tribeca, and were lured in by the beautiful decor which we could see from the sidewalk through the large open windows. We liked the looks of the menu so decided to have an early dinner on the spur of the moment. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The flavors were creative but did not overwhelm the taste of the fresh fish. The highlights were the shrimp with avocado terrine (shrimp are flown in alive daily from hawaii), the scallops with foie gras, the sauteed eggplant, and the fresh ice cream cones. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and the new chef (Mike) even came out twice to greet us and see how we liked our food. We eat out often and are somewhat jaded by upscale restaurants that survive off their reputation rather than their quality and service. We give this restaurant a rare 5-star rating and will be back soon!! Pros: Quality of food, service, decor/ambiance, great menu Cons: None!

Glad I did the menu was so interesting and all the dish we had were super flavorful and presented beautifully. I had the heirloom tomato salad with pickled watermelon and the kona kampachi crudo both were wonderful. Pros: The food Cons: none

The Food: The food was amazing! I am a huge seafood fan and my boyfriend...not so much. However, we both LOVED Fresh. From the appetizers to the dessert the food was creative, yet not complicated or drowned in sauces or heavy seasoning. By the time we had to choose a dessert I said, "pick anything on the menu, even if it doesn't sound too appetizing, I'm sure they do something amazing to it and it will be wonderful. The Service: Professional, friendly, and very polite (even though we walked in one minute before the kitchen closes) We eat out all the time, and have gone to all of the "recommended" NYC restaurants. OFTEN we are very disappointed since many NYC "hot spots" are grossly overrated. Fresh is definitely one of my top 3 restaurants here. P.S. for those of you not too into seafood, even their steak was PERFECT. My only complaint is when I asked the waiter if he recommends us ordering side dishes, he said no because the plates were plentiful. I disagree. We definitely didn't leave hungry, but next time we go (which will be soon) I will order a separate side dish with my meal. Pros: Food, service, ambiance Cons: nothing

Given that seafood was fresh, appetizers were delicious, service was great I did not mind the price tag. Do make reservations. if you want to eat in peace go as late as possible. Pros: Fresh seafood, great staff Cons: None.
