My wife and I travel to NYC several times per year. About two years ago, we were walking through mid-town. Around 10:00, we wanted a late dinner. We saw Del Frisco's and decided to give it a try. Even at this late hour, the place was packed. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who seated us promptly. It is hard not to be impressed by the interior design and architecture of this place. It is truly stunning. Our waitress was an extremely pleasant young lady from the south. We ordered a couple of drinks, a fried oyster appetizer and our entrees. I ate the oysters; and they were excellent. The waitress and I talked about how they were prepared - similar to her grandmother's technique. A few minutes later, she brought me another order; saying ""as much as you seemed to enjoy those, here's some more on me"". After I ate the second order, I told her I was concerned that I might not be able to enjoy my entree. She actually offered to cancel my entree. I thanked her for the offered, but really wanted to try the seafood special I had ordered. It did not disappoint; nor did my wife's meal. Needless to say, this was an excellent experience. In a crowded, somewhat loud, steakhouse in the the heart of NYC; I felt like I was having dinner at friend's home. My only regret is that I don't remember my waitress' name so I could publicly acknowledge her incredible service. Fortunately, we did take the time to speak to the manager before we left, and rave about this rare experience. more

Del Fisco's has always shown such an amazing ambiance and with fantastic food. All their steaks are top-notch and the service has always been very friendly. more

Tried the bar menu for lunch today, that means sitting at the bar, which is not reservable as it's first come first serve. more

I went there for a client lunch (16 of us) and was very impressed with the quality of service. The food was absolutely delicious starting with the bread and ending with the dessert. My favorite dishes: crab cakes, mac and cheese, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, lemon cake, and of course, the steaks. Can't wait to go again and will be taking my boyfriend there for his birthday. If you're trying to impress your client or significant other, definitely bring them here. more

This place is good, really good. My friend is a regular here and every time I walk in this place with him, the worker recognizes him and says, ""Sandwich?"" privet joke I guess Their drinks are overpriced I believe, but the food compensate for the drinks. more

I was the biggest Del Frisco's fan you'd ever met until a recent trip brought my perfect world crashing down. I made reservations for my birthday and it was a disaster. They over cooked everyone's meal, brought out the meal in drips and drabs and half of it was cold. They did save the night by bringing me out a trio of deserts and their cake is too good to miss. But Del Frisco's used to be ""magical"" (yea that might sound corny but it was) a place that was flawless but this trip was lacking the oomph. I cannot even say it was just this time because the time before this occasion I went and it was just okay. I thought it was just a bad night for the restaurant but it seems to be a trend. I'm on the hunt for a steak and one that can be flawless and magical. more

This place was so good I don't think I can eat steak from any where else. Very fast seating with a reservation. Couldn't even eat it all. Oh and the salad was to die for! Cheese cake was sooo good. Didn't really care for the un-clothed women on the wall. Other than that you must go here! I also have to say is you must try their Stuffed bleu cheese olives in a dirty martini they are incredible! We went this past weekend for our anniversary. The food was excellent! We had the crabcake for our appetizer. My husband got the ny strip and i got the filet trio featuring 3 different sauces. we had mac and cheese and asparagus as our side items. our waiter brought us a slice of their lemon cake free of charge! everything we ordered was excellent! i believe our waiters name was joshua. he was great! it's expensive, but the food was awesome. we had a reservation, so seating us was not a problem. Some of my co-workers raved about this place so brought a date here and gave it a try. I have gone to several steakhouses in the city as well as other states and this one does not rate high with me. It was a slow night and our waiter was not very attentive and then when I asked for one seafood platter and said ""I'm going to share this with my date,"" the waiter said ""Oh, well, I'm not sure that's allowed, I'll have to get permission from the chef."" I guess it was a per-person dish but our waiter got permission for us to share but when the platter came, man was it a small portion for the price! lol Was not impressed with the steak and to be honest, I had a MUCH better meal and experience at a steakhouse by Penn Station.
