Although the decor was nice, the service was very poor and the food was rather blend. We had to make various gestures from smiling, nodding, waiving, tapping on arms, just to get any watiress' attention. The waitresses in kimono were very good in avoiding any eye contact with the customers. No one checked if we need anything during dinner (and yes, we did not have any water left in our glasses), then it took us 20 minutes (withe various gestures) to get our bill on the table!!
Pros: Easy access
Cons: Poor service, overprice food

Everything went wrong, except Waldorf entrance next to it. We had to put the steak on the warm stone and result was expected. The service was not good at all, as soon as they heard about Restaurant week. Avoid this place even you are really hungry.
Pros: Location
Cons: Rest of it

We left this place hungry and angry.

Tried this rest for Japanese Restaurant Week and oh boy was i so wrong. The steak on the hot stone was tough. I could not finish the food. total waste of time. the restaurant was "full" til 9pm but when i got there at 5:30pm the restaurant did not have any diners even at 7pm when I left. The tuna tartate was bland, the tempura which ppl raved about was not unique at all. I could have went to a take out for the same quality. Boo to this place.
Pros: none
Cons: bad food, snobby attitude

I must agree with the few reviews below...I'll keep this short and simple, the sushi and appetizers were OK at best, but for the price (we spent about $90 each) it was unacceptable. The service was extremely slow (though our waitress was nice, I'll give her that), the sushi was average to below average, even the steak appetizer was pretty bad. The only two good things we had were the duck appetizer and the wine. I am only writing this review to warn you not to waste your time here, there are other much better sushi places in NYC that are less expensive with both a better atmosphere and much better food (try Japonais, Haru or Azuki near Union Square).
Pros: Nice waitress, girl collecting coats
Cons: below average sushi, very expensive, sterile ambiance (and the list goes on)

Going to the Waldorf Hotel you expect prestige and top notch quality from its restaurants. So it was a SURPRISE to our large group when the food served was significantly subpar and bland. The salmon tartar appetizer was mediocre while the steak cooked on a stone was extremely bland and ordinary. My friend's tofu dish tasted like it came right out of the box from a store which she didn't even want to finish. It was truly a disappointing experience as a more satisifying meal could of come at 1/10 of the price.
Do not be fooled in coming here.

The food was extremely disappointing. There was a group of 12 of us celebrating a friend's birthday and not one of us liked the food. The salmon tartare I had was bland, consisting of mediocre salmon chopped up with a couple dollops of sour cream on top. It was not visually appealing or tasty at all. The sushi was sub par. Something you can get at a restaurant for about one tenth of the price. Desert wasn't any better either. The tofu flan was boring, something you can get at an Asian grocery store any day of the week. So not a place I'd recommend unless you want to pay a lot for a whole lot of nothing.
Pros: none
Cons: food, decor

Dissapointing: we went here for restaurant week, so perhaps it is much better when you order off the menu during regular evenings. The food was scance, normal, totally average. With $7 soup, wouldn't you expect it to be life changing?
Beware...you have been warned. :)
Pros: Nice way to serve meat on a hot stone.
Cons: Not worth the price tag in my opinion.

I went to Inagiku for lunch with my girlfriends from work. i had the unagi atop brown rice and it was absolutely incredible, i thought the sauce was excellent. the sashimi that my friends ordered were good too. i also recommend the seaweed salad and the shrimp and avocado appetizer. our servers were very pleasant and the restaurant was very quiet and had beautiful decor. it was a gorgeous place and i would definitely return. i was hoping they had green tea ice cream but they only had red bean or the tofu flan. i am not a fan of flan at all, so i found the tofu flan most bland and unappetizing.
Pros: UNAGI, service, decor
Cons: dessert
