Scratcher is always a terrific place to hangout. The dark, wooden furniture makes it feel like a real old time bar. Somehow the prices seem rather steep though.

A lot goes into a perfect pint of Guinness and these guys know how to do it. The atmoshere is best experienced on the weekdays with the locals, rather than the B&Ts. Hard to find---5th and Bowery, underneath a brownstone. You'll end up spending hours there.

The Scratcher Full Irish Breakfast is one of if not the best discoveries I have ever made in New York. It is truly unbelievable. Bartenders are nice and friendly. The whole bar has an unbelievable smell to it that reminds you of someone's home, and soon to be your own as well.
