I've been enjoying Chola every time I visit NYC for the past several years. The restaurant is below sidewalk level on a street with a number of Indian restaurants. The service is top-notch and the food is delicious. The menu has a wonderful selection of the usual dishes, as well as some unusual ones. I usually want to try something different, but often fall back to my favorite--chicken tikka masala. , However, the mango chicken was also wonderful. The last time we visited the restaurant, they were offering a buffet lunch. Usually, I'm not too thrilled by buffets, but this one was very well done. They brought a selection of fresh appetizers to the table, all of which were delicious. The main course and dessert were on the buffet table, and included a generous selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The food was fresh and replenished often, so it didn't sit there getting old. I believe the buffet was around $15--a veritable bargain in NYC.
