My experiences with Popover Cafe have been hit or miss. I'll go and have an amazing brunch of eggs served in a popover, only to come back and have something fall short. Once it was the service, another time the food was cold, and then there was when the milk was sour. These are the things that keep Popover Cafe from being consistently great, which is why I wonder on occasion why I choose to wait in that line.
But overall, it is a fun place, considering the menu, most of which is served with. or in, a popover. And something about my Eggs Benny oozing into the popover, then wiping the place with the rest of the crust, reminds me this is part of the charm.

You must go to Sunday brunch at least once to enjoy the absolutely amazing popovers at Popover Cafe. The lines are around the block but it's worth it because the food is so great and the popovers are so amazing. It's a nice place to go with friends, but I recommend a smaller party because the wait may be shorter that way. You may not be able to stand waiting every week, but you may feel you have to after trying it once!

I love love love this restaurant. It has some of the best food and service on the Upper West Side, and the atmosphere is fabulous. The restaurant itself is fairly small but with all booths, it is great for a date or for catching up with friends. It is never too noisy and I have never had to wait to be seated. The food is excellent and there is a wide variety to choose from - from snadwiches, salads, pastas, breakfast food. I have never had anything here I didn't like, and they are very accomadating to changes to the menu items. Oh, and the desserts are out of this world!
