An absolutely unforgettable culinary experience when you order omikase, the chef's choices... Sitting at the bar is a particularly memorable way to go... Yes, it is expensive, our bill, for two, came to $390, worth every penny. Five stars, definitely. Go, splurge, enjoy.

I LOVE this place. The sushi is always fresh and the pieces are huge. The prices might be a little more than your average sushi restaurant but you really get your money's worth. It's only open for dinner and sometimes there is a line but the wait is worth it. Bring your appetite and your wallet and you won't be.

For sushi/sashimi that melts in your mouth, visit Sushi of Gari. It is probably one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the city. Remember to order chef's choice (omakase) if you decide to go. It is far better than their regular sushi or sashimi combos. Of course, the decor is non-existent and service so-so, but you go there just for the food.

Sushi of Gari is an experience like no other. Of course the fish is fresh and of course there is a good selection, but the flavor combinations that the chef assembles are amazing. It's kind of like an east meets west kind of thing, but you'll have to see for yourself. If you're feeling adventurous - which I highly recommend - order the chefs special sampler - it is very expensive, but INCREDIBLE!

I wish there were more stars to rate this place better than just "perfect." The food is spectacular, there are no words to describe the sushi. You must order the omikase, chef's selection, platter and don't shun the weird-sounding pieces. Mackerel, uni, eel, fatty tuna, it all makes you shudder with anticipation with every bite. You walk out feeling like you should have spent more, even though prices are already steep. Worth every penny!!!

Year in and year out this spot always gets great ratings. I've now tried the place twice and continue to be mystified by all the fuss.
First of all the room is completed tacky. Plastic posters and Japanese knick nacks fill the room. The tables are crammed together so you feel as if you're back to being packed on the 6 train.
The food is fine. The fish seems fresh enough, but nothing to write home about. The crowd is depressing. If you must order from here please get it to go.
