Family style portions and good food with the atmosphere to match
There is always a long line for Carmines but once you are seated you'll understand why. You usually get a beeper and wait until you are called. The portions are huge which is why this place is perfect for casual business dinners or birthday parties. It is a bubbling boisterous atmosphere ( noisy ) but that all goes into sharing good times and good food with a large table of people. The prices are reasonable and you do get a lot for your money here. I suggest the country style rigatoni....first time I tasted it I was Hooked.

Solves the problem of where to take visitors from out of town
I love Carmine's. It is a staple activity for when people come in from out of town. The meals are huge and reasonably priced so everyone can share and try a lot of things. The servers I have had are informative and will help you if you don't know what to get. It can get a little loud, but if you go a little later in the evening when it empties out it is just fine. Another thing - try the Titantic, which is a super delicious dessert the whole table can share.

Lots of noise and lots of food
Carmine's is a great place to take a group, especially one that doesn't want to spend a ridiculous amount per person and don't mind sharing. Their family style portions are huge and make for an interesting evening of tasting different italian foods. All their pasta is very good, not excellent but very good, and their appetizers and salads are hard to stop eating. Instead of menu's at hand, you select of one of many billboard sized menu's on the wall. The only negative things is the noise but for a fun casual dining experience, this is an excellent restaurant to go to and it usually isn't too hard to find a table though it was in the past.

Gigantic "Titanic"
Family style pasta!! The Quality of the food and service and the decor are a bargain for the price. Bring a date and share a pasta (large enough for 3 people) for about $22. The pasta is great and very garlic-ky. The angelhair is awesome and the seafood pastas are always fresh. The complimentary bread basket is delicious but be careful not to get full on that. Make room for the huge plates at carmines. The appetizers and desserts are equally huge and tasty. The Calamari is scrumptious and the gigantic "titanic" cake is out of this world.
