It makes you feel like you are really in Hollywood. Very popular old and new music videos, a gift shop, great foods. Sometimes celebrities come in there, but eat in a private room so they don't be bothered. When I was there last, Nick Lachey and JEssica Simpson (just newlyweds) came to dine a candle light dinner. There are photos all over the place on the walls and everything of the most popular and famous hollywood stars......... A taste of Hollywood here in NYC. It reminds me of a backwards version of hard rock cafe. This place can put you in another world, though it is pricey. They sell posters of movie stars, rock stars, and singers. They used to have boy bands posters back in the early 2000's, but removed some of the pop videos and put on more alternative stuff since late 2003. They used to have stuff of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys/NSYNC half a decade ago, but nowadays they have stuff of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Bros.
Pros: Celebrities walk in and eat there
Cons: Prices, slow service, crowds

Ok, so I know that you really don't go to Planet Hollywood for the food, but I thought how bad could it be? it was worse than I expected. I ordered a cheeseburger medium, you figure they can't screw that up. When it came out is was well done, the bun was hard, and the cheese WASN"T melted. I mean come on, melt the cheese at least. My friend ordered the sizzling fajita, and it had a intense mesquite flavor, as if they used too much liquid smoke. She sent it back, because each of our party tasted it and agreed it wasn't good. The kids (the reason we came) ordered....chicken fingers, the actually said it tasted "bad". The VIP appetizers were good, that actually made the experience tolerable. Their is some good movie memrobilia, but overpriced and just bad, bad, bad food. I have to say I've had better cheeseburgers in fast food restaurants. Save your money and eat someplace else, honestly it was awful. I didn't even get a pickle on my plate.
Pros: Service
Cons: Food, food, food

On Nov. 11th, I took some out of town guests to Planet Hollywood for lunch. I figured it would be a nice ambience for them considering all of the memorabilia and also to enjoy Times Square. I ordered the Southwestern salad and after a few bites I noticed some hair in my mouth. Thinking it may be mine, I took another bite only to see that it was cooked into the chicken (it was long dark hair and I have very short blonde hair). I stopped eating immediately and waited for my guests to be done before I said something. The waitress was so rude and didn?t even offer an apology; then she gave us the wrong bill and was annoyed when we told her that she had made a mistake. Needless to say, I did get the few hairy bites of my salad complimentary but never once an apology. I left hungrier, nauseated, and angry. DO NOT bother making this a stop on your trip.

Who wudda thunk it? A mid-town tourist trap, but the food was actually GOOD! The innovative pizzas were incredible, one of them just like Japanese okonamiyaki! The staff was friendly, and not aggressive at all, despite our increasing group. No reservations make things slightly annoying, but once you get up the stairs, you can wait for your friends and-- if they realize they don't have to wait in line-- they can just join you. The atmosphere is fun. The food is good, if somewhat overpriced ($6.50-12.50 for a beer). Not bad. --Eat Club is a roving group of NYC gluttons.
Pros: friendly staff, innovative food, fun atmosphere
Cons: no reservations, screaming kids

Okay, so before going I read a few of the reviews on this site, and was told by other people that the food was horrible but the restaurant was fun. I totally disagree! My two friends and I were both very pleased with our food and finished everything we were served. On top of the good food we were seated fairly quickly. Our waiter was also great, he was extremely friendly, each time he came to the table we started a new conversation. The decor was also great, they has a ton of great memorabilia. My friends and I also loved the contests they had where you had to guess the name of an actor or actress to receive a prize. Overall it was a great experience, the food was great, our waiter was even better.. I had a ton of fun.
Pros: Food, Waiters, Quick Seating, Decor
Cons: none

I WENT TO PLANET HOLLYWOOD NYC ON MARCH 18, 2007 ABOUT 4:30P.M. I WAS SO EXCITED TO BRING MY CHILDREN THERE. I WENT THERE IN 1997 AND HAD SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE THAT I WANTED TO BRING THEM. WE ARRIVED AND WERE SEATED AFTER THE PEOPLE BEHIND US WERE SEATED. THEY HAD ONE MORE IN THEIR PARTY (5). BUT THAT WAS OKAY WE WERE STILL SEATED WITHIN 8 MINS, AND THEY WEREN'T BUSY AT ALL. WE SAT DOWN THEN WE WAITED AND WAITED. I WATCHED OTHER PEOPLE BE SEATED AND GET THEIR DRINKS AND THEIR ORDERS TAKEN. I SAT THERE FOR 25 -30 MINS AND NEVER WAS ASKED FOR MY DRINK ORDER! AFTER WAITING FOR SO LONG MY HUSBAND WENT AND TOLD THE ONE OF THE HOSTTESSES THAT NO HAS BEEN TO OUR TABLE SINCE WE HAD BEEN SEATED AND THAT OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARRIVED 15 MIN AFTER US HAD THEIR DRINKS ALREADY AND THEIR APPETIZERS. SHE SAID 'I"LL HAVE SOMEONE RIGHT OUT." THEN WENT BACK TO THE KITCHEN. WELL WE WAITED ANOTHER 15 MINS AND STILL NOONE HAD BEEN TO OUR TABLE. SO MY HUSBAND WENT TO TELL THE OTHER HOSTESS THAT WE WERE VERY UPSET AND WERE LEAVING. THIS HOSTESS JUST SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS. SO I TOOK MY 2 CRYING AND HUNGRY CHILDREN TO THE ESPN ZONE.
Pros: NONE
Cons: RUDE HOSTESSES, CRAPPY SERVICE

We ate at Plant Hollywood following our late arrival into NYC. It was a couple of blocks from our hotel. We were very disappointed in our meal. We were seated promptly and service was OK, but our waiter seemd to be going through the motions though he stayed ontop of our needs. My meal was cold, so you knew it had been 'nuked' prior to serving. My wife said her meal was OK while our son did not finish his chicken pieces. Over 2 years ago when my daughter and I had visited this restaurant, it was very good even for the lateness of the evening. Unfortunately, this was far from the same experience.

Cons: Price, Food

I went there for a friend's birthday. They won't seat you until your whole party is there. I went on a Saturday night and there was no wait for seats. The food was OK, but I've had better pasta and chicken. They have a woman walking around asking if you want your pictures taken for you to purchase. The waiter we had was extremely nice.
