Went to Zona Rosa with a large group (10+) and we were all disappointed. The place is worn down -do not be fooled by website. They had limited beer menu; the drinks were aweful. The food was ok, but the portions were ridiculously small and thus way overpriced. I definitely do not recommend this place for large groups. You will leave ready to eat again. $11 for 2 miniture quesadillas!!! Are you kidding me??? And what ever happened to serving bread before dinner. Instead they serve some weird vegetable and a sliced cucumber. Terrible!!!! If you are looking for authentic mexican cuisine, this is not the place. Pros: None Cons: , Small portions, Worn Down

I love this place! I went there with a group of co-workers after for dinner and found it to be reasonable and quite good. The guacamole is almost as good as Rosa Mexicano. But this place is nice and quiet and not as rowdy. Highly, highly recommend this place! Pros: Food, Value, Ambience

Inspired Mexican draws smart diners to an overlooked midtown block. Contributor
on 10-20-2005
The Scene
Surrounded by nondescript eateries of various types, the restaurant has a tough time standing out. Lunchtime draws a decent business crowd, but evenings are quiet, with the neighborhood largely emptying out after work. Too bad, because the attractive bi-level space, with cool mod furniture that looks even better by sexy votive candlelight at night, has potential.
The Food
Dishes hail from all over Mexico and have broad appeal--you'll find Yucatan enchiladas, Oaxacan pasilla sauce and queso Chihuahua. A simple shrimp seviche with fresh cocktail sauce shines on the lunch menu, while dinner items tend to be more sophisticated, such as turkey "filet mignon" with bacon and a bold mole negro.
