We sort of stumbled upon Merchants and had a great time. It's a great date place. We had a room almost all to ourselves in front of the fireplace. It could be the ideal romantic evening, but also seems like a nice place to hang out with friends. The food is excellent. We had the grilled tuna and it was fabulous!

I was first introduced to Merchants bar on a date. This cozy bar is perfect for dates, and smokers! This bar area is located downstairs and upon entering, you might expect to see overdressed, pretentious people and a snobby wait staff, however, it is not like this at all. There is a small bar in the corner and comfy couches and chairs with tables all around, some off in corners for privacy, while some are out in the open. There is also a fire place and on weekends, they have live music, usually a piano player. The crowd is mostly young to middle-aged people just out to smoke cigars (or cigarettes) in a dimly-lit, friendly and romantic atmosphere. And the wait staff is very nice!
