Depending on what you wand to accomplish, Fromex can either be very helpful, or very frustrating. There are about 9 or 10 locations throughout the city and they don't all offer the same services. Also, the degree of helpfulness among the employees is really a crapshoot.... some are great, some will ignore you. However, there is one service that they offer that I happen to think is the best deal in town: *IF* you are shooting with a film camera and you want your pictures scanned and burned to a CD, they will develop your film and put your pictures in high resolution files on a CD for less than $10 including tax. If this is something you do often, you can join they annual club-card which gives you a 10-15% discount on their services. Fromex also has the capacity to develop and print your black and white film, although I do believe they send all those orders to the UES location on 86th street. But given the little photo places all around the city where you never know what you'll get for their exorbitant prices, Fromex is a decent gamble.
