Until I read the other reviews of this store, I had forgotten they even sell CDs, since I only go in here (and I think this is true of most actors and singers in New York) to buy sheet music. They have all the books from the current Broadway shows, as well as a very thorough selection of classics -- well known and not. They also have sheet music for songs from current (or particualrly well received) films. It's probably the best resource in the city for this type of stuff -- if they don't have it, you'll have to look online.

If you’re looking for a recent or popular CD, do not shop here. Oh, certainly, they’ll have it – but they’ll charge you $22 where any other record store would charge $14-18. However, if you’re looking for rare stuff – imports, out-of-prints, or even memorabilia if you’re a collector – this is the place to go. Just as any of the very knowledgeable staff members, and they’ll either lead you right to where you want, offer to obtain it for you, or direct you to where you might find it. Being right in the heart of Times Square, they specialize in theatre-related stuff: cast recordings, Broadway performers' solo albums, sheet music, and even showtune karaoke sets.

I can usually find some rare imports of various Broadway Cd's here. They have a large selection of CD's, scores, and some video. Their scores aren't limited to theather, you can find contemporary and classical there too. Staff is usually quite friendly and more than willing to help. Most notable is their unique display of vintage collectibles of Beatles, I Love Lucy, Star Wars and other miscellanous items. (which are for purchase.) Overall a good store but if you're looking for soundtracks of current shows, you should just drop by Virgin or purchase it from Amazon for much cheaper.
