This liquor store has a great selection of wines - as well as wine wrappers. Great if you are running out for a house party, etc. where you need a quick gift. They have huge displays of wine - floor to celing. It is almost overwhelming but nice to have such a large selection. The sales people are very friendly as well. Of course, they also have your run of the mill selection of liquors.

Gotham Wines and Liquors is truly a nice and elegant wine shop which I believe mainly caters to finer tastes in wine. The bottle selection was very solid and truly had some bottles to see if you were not interested in purchasing. The staff was truly friendly and very knowledgable - several of them were very patient as I asked several questions of them. Overall, shopping at Gotham Wines and liquors was a nice experience that I would recommend to those looking for a nice bottle of wine.

I recently discovered this place. I saw one of their wines recommended in New York Magazine. The one they recommended was the Vitiano Rosé 2003. For $9.99, I knew I had to try it. The wine was really very good. That wine has a new fan and the shop has a new fan. The staff is not pretentious and the prices are great. There is of course a wide range of prices, depending on what wines you like. For someone who likes wine, but does not consider them self a wine connoisseur, it is a great find. I will definitely be going back.

New York has a lot of outstanding wine and liquor stores, but Gotham is probably, for its size, the best. The selection is superb, the prices competitive, and the staff helpful and very wine-savvy. Hard to find Israeli wines are their specialty, but wines from everywhere are available and, importantly, they don't stock much junk. You can pretty much grab any bottle off the shelf here without worry.
